Jones Street Retreat on 2nd Floor w/ Lunch from Mrs. Wilkes by Lucky Savannah

Rich in both history and charm, this building was once the home of Mrs. Wilkes, proprietress of the famous Boarding House and still-operational Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room. This third floor apartment offers a unique accommodations for up to four Lucky guests. You’ll wake up every morning to beautiful Jones Street, where cobblestones and ancient oak trees dripping in Spanish moss compelled Southern Living Magazine to name it the “Prettiest Street in America.”

The original hardwood floors and 12’ ceilings will give you a sense of stepping back in time, while the tasteful interior decor and modern amenities provide all the luxuries of staying at hotel - with more room. The large living room has plenty of space and comfortable seating. The galley kitchen opens to the dining room. You’ll find everything you need to cook a full meal, or just enjoy a cup of coffee while you plan your day.

The bedroom offers a king sized, four poster bed, and the dresser and closet provide plenty of space. The ensuite bath has a tub/shower combo, vanity with sink and a separate vanity ideal for getting ready for a night out.

Wilkes Three is an ideal location to call home while exploring the Historic District. Located in the middle of our bustling Design District, stylish shops dot the streets among several historic homes open for touring, including the Mercer Williams House and the childhood home of Flannery O’Connor. With a three night or longer say, you’ll receive one free lunch for two at Mrs. Wilkes’ Dining Room, where you’ll dine like a local and feel like family!

What is parking like for this home?
Parking for this home is on-street and metered, which is enforced by the City of Savannah from Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Guests may conveniently pay using the ParkSavannah app, feed the meter or parking kiosks directly, or park on a nearby non-metered street. Please take note of posted Sweep Zone signs when parking on the street.

*Guests receive one free lunch for two with every three-night or more booking. The restaurant is typically closed for the month of January. Please contact the Mrs. Wilkes Restaurant directly regarding open and seasonal hours as these may vary. Celebrated my girl’s birthday. Someone so in love with history that the Jones Street Retreat brought her to tears. Everything was within walking distance. So beautiful and so safe. We’ll definitely be looking forward to our return trip.

Such a beautiful place and location!

We had such a wonderful stay at Wilkes 3! The location was probably one of the prettiest streets in Savannah and very close to everything we wanted to see. The apartment itself was beautiful and clean and the hosts were so responsive and easy to contact when we did run into a couple very minor issues. We went for a friends trip and it was the perfect home base for us in Savannah! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Wilkes three. The home was clean and spacious. The amenities were up to date within the historic home. The bed was comfortable. The management company was very responsive when we struggled to get in and then had an issue with the shower.

Girls trip to Savannah.

There was no instructions on where to put the linens, where the carriage house was for the trash, and what to set the thermostat to. There was food under the couch and a tack on the rug. The refrigerator handles were dirty as well as the lid to the trash can. I’ve stayed at several vbro’s with a long list of to dos. It is really helpful. We also didn’t get our voucher to Mrs. Wilkes Restaurant. That was disappointing. The location was wonderful as well as the neighborhood.

Perfectly Pleasant

We had a great time in Savannah, thanks to this wonderful location. We were right in the middle of everything we wanted to see/do; all within walking distance from this lively Jones Street apartment. Check in was easy-once i looked back at the information on the app that explained the door code would be changed upon arrival (different from the initial code i saw in the confirmation info) but that was my mistake. Everything was great. We most certainly recommend this apartment and area in general and will definitely stay again if/when we return to Savannah.

Beautiful historical place

We enjoyed our stay at Wilkes Three. It is located in a beautiful historic residential area. Our accommodations were wonderful and we loved staying here. Savannah is a lovely area to visit.

Great location except for parking

Had a great time, only went to Mrs Wilkes Restaurant once due to the long lines. If you stay here I suggest you get 2 day parking permits from the city so you don’t have to move they car around every 2 hrs. House was nice other then some mold in the bathroom and the noise of the people in line on the street below to get into the restaurant.

Perfect Getaway

Would have liked to spend more time there. Savannah was beautiful. Quick trip for a wedding. The property was nice. We were supposed to have lunch but they were closed. They did notify us about that shortly before our trip. There were lots of steps to get into the unit. But, if you need to stop and rest...a chair is at the top of the stairs!

The Real Savannah Experience

This property was really pretty on the most historic and beautiful street in Savannah. It was blocks from Forsythe Park and only about 1/2 mile walk to the best restaurants and bars on the Riverfront. Easy street parking. You could hear a little of the neighbors above and below but seriously - what do you expect with a house this old with this much history. It didn't disrupt our visit so wasn't a problem and just added to the charm.

Beautiful place and prime location....

We were pleasantly surprised at how LARGE this rental was---the entire 3rd floor of this historic home was all ours!!! The furnishings were nice and added to the Southern Charm-ness. Lucky Savannah (property management) was excellent; they also reached out to us via phone and email prior to our arrival. The location was in the heart of the historic district on beautiful Jones Street--so lovely. Parking was a little bit of a pain--2 hr meters--but this was a small nuisance that was worth it to stay here.

Cute place full of surprises

We were very impressed after traversing all the stairs with our luggage. The first night we had an unintended guest crawl out of the shower drain, but the biggest surprise was on day 2. The restaurant on the first floor put a table of four on the landing where the entrance to the rental was located. We talked to the restaurant owner/ landlord. They were surprised at us for being taken aback at literally having to crawl over the food patrons. The definition of Southern Hospitality was rewritten by this landlord. We were really disappointed with her!

Terrible hide a bed

Great location, wonderful atmosphere & space. But, the hide a bed was so bad we had to take the mattress off & put on floor. Ms Wilkes was closed so we couldn’t have the lunch😱

Enjoyable stay!

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment and would definitely stay here again. Very roomy and pleasant. The king bed is comfortable but beware of the sofa bed as it has seen better days and sleeping on it is a challenge. My daughter found the best position to be sideways! We visited when the weather was in the high 90’s and the AC struggled to keep the apartment cool. But it was not unbearable. Fans are provided and helped a lot. There is free WiFi. The router is located next to the tv. Just walk over to it with your smartphone and it will automatically connect. The best deal is the free lunch for two at Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room. Go down the back stairs to the back door and you won’t have to wait in line. If you bring your car, download the Park Savannah parking app for best parking rates. We parked our car in front and never moved it. Catch the free Dot bus at the corner to get around town.
