Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy The Broughton Apartments Historic District offers its guests concierge services, laundry facilities, and an elevator. Public spaces have free WiFi. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge.
All was well until the battery on the smoke detector was low. I adored the loud obnoxious beep from @ 1am until @ 9am. I went for a run at 10am. The staff came in and replaced the battery while I was out. They offered to cancel my reservation and credit my account in a chat. I am sure someone dreams of sitting the phone waiting for a response while on Holiday? I do not. In the end no compensation was made. No consideration of the
inconvenience. I'll just say the costumer support team at this location is lacking in professionalism and hospitality. I hope it is not a company wide issue?
Everything was easy and seamless. Great area around hotel. The only thing I did not like is the building was not really soundproofed. You could hear everyone in a room nearby. Luckily all the noise stopped around 12:30 am
Love the property and the location being within walking distance to river street was a plus. The only downside was you could hear everything from the street if you are sleeping on the pullout sofa.
Loved everything about this property will definitely stay here again if ever back in Savannah. Will also look for properties from this company in other cities on future vacations.
Great location for the price. Parking, loading and unloading can be hard if you arrive during busy shopping times. Couch is old and very uncomfortable and needs replacing.
We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very nice. I utilized the sound machine although we didnât necessarily need it. I enjoyed all the amenities and things that were provided. The location of the apartment is amazing. The area around it had so many shops, restaurants and other well known Savannah landmarks. Everything was walkable. We had to use a parking garage but it was a short walk from the apartment and was only $22 for the entire weekend. We attended a concert at Enmarket Arena and they had a shuttle bus. The meeting point was close to where we stayed and it worked out great for us. I would definitely recommend Sonder.
This is a very cool place right in the middle of everything. Itâs very clean and decorated really nicely. Plenty of space and even a nice kitchen. The parking situation deducts from the rating of this place though. The garage is pretty close, but it charges $20 to stay overnight. In the email that was sent to me it stated that if we stayed parked in the garage past the time we stated we would be leaving they would charge $4 per half hour over. We stayed an extra 45 minutes, and got charged $20 upon exiting the garage. I would definitely stay here again however, but next time I would wait until we arrive to book the parking on the app rather than doing it in advance.
The property is nice inside with a few limitations/issues (for example: there is an upraised nail in the hall way outside the bedroom sticking up that hurts when you step on it). The walls are very thin, though, and having to park 6 min walk from the property (and pay $20) along with the multiple codes to get into the building just made it really complicated and inconvenient. Otherwise, beds were comfortable and place was clean and nice.
Could not review the stay because I could not check in. This property in not for tech challenge people. Their customer service can not access your reservetion to actually help. I ended up going to a regular hotel where I had a really nice stay.
Great location. Apartment was clean. Nice modern bathroom and kitchen. Elevator was out, which forced luggage unloading and loading on busy Broughton street and a 3rd floor walk up. Couch was extremely uncomfortable to sit on. Nice to have a full kitchen, but the toaster did not work. We did use the cheap parking, which was nice.
I'm retired and on disability. A week prior to check in I got an email saying the elevator was inoperable. I spoke with Sonder about it and they said it would be repaired prior to check in. Upon arrival I found the elevator still inoperable. All they were willing to do was cancel my reservation with full refund. It was 1200 miles from my home and check in day.
Overall good stay. Great location. Close to shopping, restaurants, and River St. It was nice to have a full kitchen. Was clean and safe. Four cons though⊠Parking situation, elevator, neighbors, and the bed. Parking was a pain. Wish there was an assigned spot for parking. Had to carry all our luggage down the street in the rain. Thereâs a big parking lot in the back of the building that would be perfect for parking space⊠The elevator was broken while we were there so get ready to walk up three flights. They did let us know before arrival though. The neighbors were loud from the walls being thin. The bed was awful. Bed sank in the middle so we slept terribly. We were there for just one night so I recommend this for a quick stay, not long term.
Gorgeous property and very clean! Easy access to many restaurants and stores. The parking wasnât ideal. Meter parking on the street for a maximum of 12 hours in front of the building is available - however, finding a spot was nearly impossible because itâs such a busy area. There is temporary parking in the back entrance to unload your luggage and use the elevators (which happened to be out of service anyway) but your vehicle CAN NOT be unattended otherwise it will be towed. The closest parking garage is 3 blocks down, making it super inconvenient if you have to carry all of your luggage if you canât find a meter parking spot in the front to unload prior to parking your car down the street. I feel like itâs important to note that there are a handful of homeless people around the area as well, they are completely harmless and very nice - but itâs worth mentioning.
Excellent location in the historic district with easy access to downtown and the Riverwalkâperfect for those who value convenience and walkability.
However, noise is a downside. Squeaky floors and poor soundproofing mean youâll hear neighbors and hallway traffic. The complimentary earplugs say it all.
Great for location seekers, but expect a noisy stay.
