The Wilkes Pied-a-terre shares its name and building with our original Wilkes House property, and is a 2nd floor apartment located above the famous Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room. You’ll wake up every morning to beautiful Jones Street, where cobblestones and ancient oak trees dripping in Spanish moss compelled Southern Living Magazine to name it the “Prettiest Street in America.”

Rich in architectural details, this home has original hardwood floors, marble fireplaces, and 12’ ceilings complimented by stately furnishings. Enjoy a view of Jones Street from the comfort of your living room, where a flat screen TV is discreetly tucked away in the armoire. The connecting dining room has lots of light and beautiful antique furniture. The recently renovated kitchen is fully equipped with all you’ll need for a weekend getaway or extended stay, including a washer and dryer.

The bedroom has a stately four-poster king-sized bed, reading chair, and plenty of drawer and closet space to unpack and settle in. The ensuite bathroom has a bright, walk-in shower and a large vanity with space to sit and get ready for your day or a night out.

A walk down nearby Whitaker Street will bring you to several locally owned shops, including One Fish Two Fish, Number Four Eleven, and Lily Bay Studio + Bazaar. With a three night or longer say, you’ll receive one free lunch for two at Mrs. Wilkes’ Dining Room, where you’ll dine like a local and feel like family!

What is parking like for this home?
Parking for this home is on-street and metered, which is enforced by the City of Savannah from Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Guests may conveniently pay using the ParkSavannah app, feed the meter or parking kiosks directly, or park on a nearby non-metered street. Please take note of posted Sweep Zone signs when parking on the street.

*Guests receive one free lunch for two with every three-night or more booking. The restaurant is typically closed for the month of January. Please contact the Mrs. Wilkes Restaurant directly regarding open and seasonal hours as these may vary. In the event of restaurant closure, we are unable to offer refunds but guests are welcome to use the lunch voucher on your next visit!

The apartment was perfect! It was like stepping back into time with all the antiques. I felt as if I had visited somewhere a President had stayed. The location was perfect for walking to see all there is to do in downtown Savannah.

We were in the unit on the first floor, (not the ground floor which houses the restaurant ). It was huge and furnished to look like the 1800s, but with all the modern conveniences in the bathroom and kitchen. It was clean, well stocked, and the bed was comfortable. We felt as though we were staying in the lap of luxury. The only downside is that they used strongly scented detergent to wash the sheets which then not only affects the sheets and pillowcases, but also the pillow since the pillowcase encloses it. They must have used a deodorizer in the living room as well because the sofa and chairs had a fragrance. It was very strong. Luckily there were some extra pillows and pillow cases in the closet, and the fragrance had mostly worn off. I didn't sit in the living room because of the fragrance, and we spent our time in the bedroom and the dining room, but mostly we weren't in the apartment that much because there is so much to see and do in Savannah. The included lunch for one day at Mrs. Wilke's was wonderful. The fried Chicken was fabulous. There were about 15 or more different dishes on the table served family style. It was like Thanksgiving dinner. I hope that they see this and change to unscented products like Tide free or All free. Other than the perfume smell from the laundry detergent, we had a wonderful stay.

Fantastic!

Absolutely stunning place, in the perfect location, and wonderful attention from the property management company that helps run it.My person and I loved every inch of the place. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, but now we have an excuse to come stay here again. Really appreciated the friendly and kind communication with the property management team. Had several questions and they were just wonderful. Stay here!

Above the restaurant

Beautifully appointed era-matched furnishings. The area is wonderful for walking to many other restaurants and shops. Close to the beautiful squares. Should note that long lines form around 10:30 weekday mornings to get a seat at Mrs. Wilkes dining Room, so if you want a quiet late breakfast on the front patio, be prepared to have many folks as guests!!

And Elegant Place from the Past

Loved the high ceilings, curving walls, furnishings, furniture, layout, and more. The location was great, with Mrs. Wilke's Dining Room right downstairs. They had excellent food and plenty of it. Despite the age of the place, it smelled fine and was plenty warm despite it being cold and rainy outside. Beautiful place inside and out.

Stay Above Mrs. Wilkes Restaurant exceeded our expectations. The beautiful building on Jones Street, a stunning street in Savannah, immediately took our breath away. The apartment above Mrs. Wilkes Restaurant combined mid-century modern elegance with the warmth of Southern hospitality. The exceptional staff treated us with the utmost respect and hospitality when needed. It is within walking distance from many popular sites in historic Savannah.

What a beautiful rental place! Great location, you can walk the entire old town. The apartment is so spacious you feel guilty using it for just two people. Such nice antique fixtures and modern kitchen and bathroom.

The apartment was beautiful,location was great, W.Jones St. is lovely in itself. The mattress speaks a lot, if one rolls over the other will here it!😂 We did not cook so I don’t know about the kitchen. I will definitely stay here again! Just to be surrounded by the beautiful furnishings was great!

Wonderful Birthday Weekend!!

Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprise with the beauty and historical preservation of our apartment! Check in was very easy and everything was perfectly ready to welcome us. The house is located perfectly to get to anything you want to see and all of the wonderful restaurants. On our last day we had lunch downstairs in the dining room (amazing soul food with love in it) and got to meet the dedicated staff and even chat with Mrs. Wilkes granddaughter and learn about some of the history and family orientation of the house and Lucky Savannah, so grateful we made the stop before leaving. We will definitely be booking this little gem again next year for our birthdays again.
