Beautiful home in Schwasdorf with sauna

Poggelow Castle was built in 1848 in the English Tudor style according to plans by architect Friedrich Hitzig, a pupil of Schinkel, and was formerly owned by the famous von Bassewitz family. It was extensively restored between 1996 and 2004 and the entire façade was restored in 2015. Today, the castle is a listed building and provides the ideal setting for a sophisticated holiday in the countryside or for celebrations of all kinds.



The castle terrace and balcony overlook a small lake. Up to 20 people can be accommodated in a total of 7 cosily furnished apartments, each with its own kitchenette. There is also a main kitchen for all residents. The castle is therefore ideal for group trips or a holiday with a large family. There is a large dining room on the lower floor, which can be used for celebrations or meetings. In the basement there is a sauna, solarium and fitness room. There is also a billiard room, a large covered terrace and a 32 m² heated/covered swimming pool on the property. Here you can enjoy your holiday with the extended family.



The accommodation is ideal as a wedding location. Celebrate your own fairytale wedding here in the castle. A church in Jördenstorf is available for the church wedding. Afterwards, you can enjoy your wedding celebration in a private setting.



Renovation work was carried out in the fitness and billiard room in 2017.



A small catamaran is available on the castle pond. This is firmly anchored and offers space for up to 8 people, who can drink their coffee here on cosy garden furniture or simply enjoy the sun.



The castle is only rented out as a unit.



Poggelow is located on the northern edge of Mecklenburg Switzerland in an idyllic rural setting, surrounded by woods and fields - ideal for a horseback ride. Why not bring your four-legged friend with you! There is room for up to 4 horses in the horse shelter at the castle. The castle is very easy to reach via the A19 and A20 motorways. The journey from Hamburg or Berlin takes about 2.5 hours. The Baltic Sea coast is just under an hour's drive away.



Costs for energy/oil/water are to be paid on site according to consumption. A payment on account is to be made on arrival. Plus final cleaning also to be paid on site. Deposit for youth groups 2,000 EUR.
