The house was very comfortable and cozy. The view is amazing. We sat by the river for hours enjoying the view and wildlife. Our host was wonderful to work with.
Just like home... this home reminded me of visiting my grandma when I was a young girl. This home is filled with love and comfort. There is an apple tree in the back yard, so of course my mom made an apple pie. We sat in the kitchen eating our warm apple pie, overlooking the Rogue River and along came some deer, slowly passing through. My mom and I didn't want to leave. Not too far from Crater Lake which is a must experience and see! Stop at Beckie's Cafe in Prospect for a delicious home made lunch and pie. We asked Gael, the host, about fishing and she recommended booking a fishing guide through the local store 'The Fishin Hole Fly Shop'. Pritch treated us like we were regulars, answering all our questions about local fishing and booked us with Jake the fishing guide, to fish salmon and steelhead on the Rogue. It was an amazing experience and also a tour of the Rogue River (yes, we did release the fish). I highly recommend this. We plan to return to this same home and book Jake to teach us fly fishing. We didn't want to leave this home. Thank you for being the base for great memories.
This is a charming vacation home. It was very clean and well provided with comfort and necessities. We are in our 80s and found the stairs steep in front and back, but thankfully only about 4 or 5 steps. The resident family of wild geese took over the area near the river making it impossible to walk near it with all the poop. However, we sat on the wooden deck and enjoyed watching the river at a distance and being in the company of the enormous pine and cedar trees. The decor is heavily masculine. I would have liked a brighter, lighter interior, but that is not a big deal.
