OK for a 1 night stay. Staff were excellent: very helpful, friendly and courteous. Dinner at the restaurant was very nice. The food was tasty and well presented. We were allowed to take in the bottle of wine we received at checkin. The service was very good. Both the bar and restaurant menus had a diverse selection on offer. The room, number 215, was not exceptionally clean but the bed was well made up which was necessary because the mattress was so horrible. It was old, lumpy with many sinks from longterm use. We couldn't sleep. Asking for a room changed at 11.30 pm when we were ready for bed, would have been inconvenient. Before writing this review, I checked the previous guest comments to see if there was previously mentioned comments Re room 215. October 2025 another guest highlighted room 215 mattress as needing to be replaced. The shower tub combo could benefit from a tub non-slip mat to mitigate accidents. When you are in shower, and wet, calling the front desk to ask for one is too late. Prevention is better than cure or law suits. The plumbing drainage throughout the bathroom needs attention. The hotel location is lovely, well kept grounds and good parking. Looks like a good function (wedding) venue but less of a longer stay hotel. The hotel owners / franchaisee need to invest in some 'wear and tear' replacement.

Really good week here.. room was good, comfy and warm. Reception staff were fantastic, really friendly and nice. Just a shame I had to start work really early and miss out on the scrambled eggs.

We stayed over a wet weekend and the Hotel was very warm and welcoming. We paid for breakfast but having a guide dog had to sit in the main bar area and not the restaurant which was ok but away from the buffet area. Staff are friendly and very helpful to provide additional or replenishable tea and coffee items as rooms are not cleaned every day. There’s a large car park at the rear of the hotel and be aware at this time of year the hotel puts on Christmas events so the bar can at times be busy, but as the event venue is in a separate building the music from the venue is muted. The rooms and the restaurant are a little underwhelming with little of no decoration save for 1 Santa and 1 tree at the entrance to the dinning room but little else to tell you it’s Christmas.

Everything I want in an overnight hotel

Great check in staff, the food was very good, if a little expensive. Buffet breakfast was well stocked and nicely cooked. Will 100% stay here again in the near future
