Kindly be aware that, despite the presence of screens on each window, our property is in the middle of the forest and bugs can find their way inside the house.

We want to share some details about the weather in Monteverde from December to March. During these months, you might experience strong winds, and on occasion, some nighttime howling noises. This will not defer from your ability to enjoy but something to take into consideration.

The fireplace underneath the television in the family room is a portrait and does not produce heat.

Super séjour en famille dans ce havre de paix. Propriété de luxe avec vue imprenable et magnifiques couchers de soleil. Là seule difficulté rencontrée est le petit bout de chemin final pour se rendre à la propriété qui est un peu plus difficile mais à part de cela ça mérite un 5 étoiles

A beautiful stay all around. The view was really amazing and we saw so many birds sitting on the incredible wrap around deck. Thankfully Ingrid sent very clear directions on what to expect upon arrival. The last 400m of the road is rough but it is 100% worth it!

The view was incredible. We were so happy we booked in monteverde. The area is very special and worth it. The sunset view was breathtaking from the house. I recommend having dinner at home in this one so you can sit and truly enjoy the sunset view.

Absolutely Amazing!!! The best VRBO and welcoming host. The home and property were immaculately clean and gorgeous. The home is spacious and very private with a spectacular view, very comfortable beds and thoughtful amenities. Our stay here was the highlight of our trip and we would love to visit again. My recommendation would be to plan time to enjoy the beauty of this property, there was so much to do in town nearby (that we did and visited) but my family could have easily spent more time at the house enjoying it’s beautiful views and ambiance.

Beautiful family get-away

We absolutely loved our stay at Sunset House! Close to such beauty and fun activities. We headed out for adventure each morning and would retreat "home" each night to watch the sunset (or magical mist!) and have some downtime as a family. It was the perfect balance. The house is so comfortable, and the view / location can't be beat! Ingrid was a wonderful host - I had a few questions and she got back to me promptly and was incredibly patient and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this property to others visiting the area!

Words cannot describe how absolutely beautiful the property and surrounding area is. The location gives you a wonderful view to take it all in. The house itself was immaculately clean, modern, and everything you could want. Even bath robes, wine and chocolate. The host was very responsive and accommodating with additional questions and information prior to stay. If you come during rainy season I could see how it may be a little challenging with the road. If you have 4 wheel drive you should have no problems. Definitely recommend this place and I would stay again.

Our stay at Sunset Paradise House was wonderful! The house was comfortable, beautiful and clean, just like in the pictures. Monteverde is not too far away and has a variety of stores and restaurants. Ingrid was very responsive and nice!

A beacon of light

Upon arriving at Sunset Paradise Hotel the three of us were greeted with wine, chocolate and robes for the jacuzzi. The house was modern with new appliances and very clean. The bedrooms were comfortable. The view from the second floor is stunning and we especially enjoyed the rainbow in the morning. Overall would highly recommend.

Fantastic!

We drove from La fortuna and wanted to break up the trip so we stopped at Mistico hanging bridges (close to La fortuna) to hike and it was gorgeous, then stopped again at cafe & macadamia for lunch (amazing views of lake arenal, decent food). Arrived just at sunset and as promised it was paradise! The house was perfect and stayed cool, it rained on and off, the views were out of this world so we planned everything in order to be home by 4:30 everyday to watch the sunset and enjoy the jacuzzi. Really nice, clean bathrooms, comfy couch, enough flat yard to throw a football. We zip lined at selvatura with our boys (10&12yo) and we all had a great adrenaline filled day. Our favorite place to eat was the jungle monteverde (Indian, Thai, Japanese) about a 15 -20 min drive. There are some bumpy gravel mtn roads so be prepared. It was awesome overall and I highly recommend this house if you’re going to be in the area.

Can't stay long enough.

Incredible views, couldn't have stayed long enough. We woke up before the sun and enjoyed the morning in the Jacuzzi with fresh coffee. The only thing I would recommend is buying groceries before making the drive, so you don't have to leave.

Amazing home/Beautiful Viewd

The home was amazing with absolutely stunning views enhanced by the upstairs with floor to ceiling windows throughout. The only tough thing, and it wasn't the host's fault, were the really rough roads the last two miles or so. An SUV makes it but I'm not so sure about a sedan. Again though, it was a wonderful stay overall.
