Summary:
A piece of Texas history in magnificent Spicewood! This stately, secluded 7-bedroom home offers picturesque views of Texas Hill Country with luxury features and amenities such as detached guest apartments, private pool, enclosed tennis court, and basketball goal.

The Space:
The home is on a 2-acre gated property and when Lake Travis is full, you can see the beautiful water in the cove from the backyard!

The character throughout the home is rich with history having first been built as a modest home that was expanded to its current arrangement in the mid-70’s. The update included the antique doors leading into the courtyard which are reported to be from “The Alamo” movie set. John Wayne directed and starred in the movie “The Hellfighters” in 1968 and the home’s owner at that time was a technical director for the movie. Wayne and the home’s owner had a lifelong friendship and John Wayne stayed at the house and played tennis there!

The great room features an impressive stone fireplace (decorative only), two leather sofas, a collection of armchairs, and a large smart TV – perfect for large groups to watch movies or sporting events. The adjacent family room boasts a fireplace, TV, comfortable sofa (sleeper), and a 4-person table for casual dining or games.

The spacious gourmet kitchen and cafĂ© table for coffee is situated in front of yet another gorgeous old stone fireplace. Fully equipped, the kitchen is a chef’s dream with rich countertops and stainless steel appliances, with barstool seating at the island for 3. The elegant dining room, with its own fireplace, provides a grand table with seating for twelve.

Across the courtyard, the separate guest quarters include an upstairs main apartment as well as a downstairs studio apartment. The upstairs apartment has another fully-equipped kitchen with all appliances and coffee makers, a private king-sized bedroom with ensuite bathroom and balcony, and a living area with a queen-sized bed, two sofas, dining table, smart TV, and cozy fireplace. This area is great for families.

To maximize your time outdoors, ample lounge and dining seating surround the shaded pool area. Saddle up to the outdoor bar and prepare some afternoon cocktails for the sunbathers in your group or take your well-earned meals al fresco under the expansive Texas sky.

With all this to offer and so much more, this home is truly a unique find that makes a perfect place to host a family reunions & baby or bridal showers. With so much space, the possibilities are endless.

This home comfortably sleeps up to 16 guests in 7 private bedrooms split between the main home and the two guest apartments. There is an additional sleeper sofa in main house living room and a rollaway bed located at the property.

Main Home Bedrooms and Bathrooms:
- Bedroom #1 (upstairs) includes a king-sized bed, TV, and ensuite bathroom with a dual vanity, walk-in shower, and large soaking tub.
- Bedroom #2 (upstairs) includes 1 twin-sized bed and 1 twin-sized trundle.
- Bedroom #3 (downstairs) includes a queen-sized bed and smart TV.
- Bedroom #4 (downstairs) includes 1 queen-sized bed and 1 full-sized sleeper sofa, with private patio access.
- There is a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo between bedrooms #3 and #4.
- Bedroom #5 (downstairs) includes 1 twin-sized bed and 1 twin-sized trundle, with private patio access.
There is a 3/4 bathroom just off the family room.

Guest Apartments Bedrooms and Bathrooms:
- Bedroom #6 (upstairs apartment) includes a king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Note: There is an additional queen-sized bed in the living area of the apartment.
- Bedroom #7 includes 1 twin-sized bed and 1 twin-sized trundle, with smart TV and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower.

THINGS TO NOTE:
- The pool is Not heated. Hot Tub currently is out of service but may be used as a smaller pool section.
- There's a tennis court at the property.
- Two washers and two dryers in home.
- Four refrigerators and three dishwashers.
- Five TVs with cable service.
- Master closet converted into a quiet room for very small children, complete with Pack N' Play, child gate, and rocking chair.
- Half bath out by the pool.
- Parking is available for up to six vehicles in the driveway or on the road to the second garage. Do not park on the grass.
- Bedroom #1’s balcony and the fort near the tennis court is currently not available for guest use.
- This home is pet friendly. A maximum of 2 dogs may be brought to this home. Small dogs may be able to get under the fence. All pets are NOT allowed in the pool. Please note that there is an additional Pet Fee of $75 per pet that is not included in your final booking cost. To pay your Pet Fee, please contact the Customer Care Team after booking.
- Drought conditions will affect the water levels for this property so please know that the pictures in the listing may not reflect the true level of water during your stay. We are not able to give refunds or cancellations due to low water levels.

This premier location provides guests with access to all things Travis County. Texas BBQ nearby. There are 18 Hill Country wineries, five microbreweries, and more than eight public golf courses within an hour's drive. Check out Spicewood Winery and Stone House Vineyard six miles away and bring home a bottle to enjoy on the back deck with stunning views from the unheated pool. The home is within walking distance of the Pedernales River, so guests can easily have adventures on the water with boat rentals nearby. Once on the water, guests can explore the waterways or try their hand at water skiing and wakeboarding. For horseback riding, enjoy a guided trail rides from nearby horse stables. Antique/collectible hunters will love Fredericksburg, located an hour to the southwest. The house is 15 minutes from outlet shopping in Bee Cave, 10 minutes from Muleshoe Bend Recreation Area, and 40 minutes from the airport and downtown Austin. Bluebonnets blossom everywhere in April and May.

Other notable locations include Downtown Marble Falls which has a walkable district with local restaurants and independent shops, as well as Horseshoe Bay with awesome lake activities, fine dining, and breathtaking trails. If you want to venture further, the thriving city of Austin is just under an hour away making for an easy day trip to explore a unique urban culture.

This home will be stocked with a starter set of consumables such as soaps and paper products. Guests are advised to either bring or purchase additional after arrival.

If you are bringing a dog - the pet fee is not included in this total price. An additional pet fee of $35 per day per pet will be applied after the booking is complete. A maximum of 2 pets can be brought to the unit. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. Note: a small dog might be able to get under the fence.
