Le Marocce, a charming country house in Spongano, a delightful village with ancient traditions and village festivals located in the heart of Salento. It is close to the crystal clear sea of ââCastro (3km), the thermal baths and the caves of Santa Cesarea as well as the golden beaches of Otranto and Santa Maria di Leuca.
The property includes a main villa and a studio apartment, which is our pajara called La Capperaia because it is surrounded by beautiful and fragrant caper plants.
The villa is enclosed by 10,000 square meters of lush garden surrounded by dry stone walls (fence typical of Salento) and olive trees. The whole house, the Capperaia and the swimming pool have flowering plants, figs, prickly pears, caper plants, bougainvillea and wisteria, pepper trees, lemons and aromatic plants.
The villa has a strategic position: every day in a short time you can reach a different beach choosing among the most beautiful. It is close to the Terme for treatments and body care.
The marvelous swimming pool is set in the white Lecce stone and has comfortable and relaxing sunbeds.
In the pool area there are two gazebos one with a large marble table for 10/12 people and a smaller one with 4 armchairs to relax and read.

The Marocce enchants for the color of the olive trees, the symphony of nature, the magic of light and quiet.
Inside you will find comfort, nature and privacy; outside the villages they propose: events, festivals, exhibitions, musical concerts, markets, popular dances, pizzica, parties with baroque lights, night life, narrow alleys with artisan shops.
The villa has a beautiful living room with wood burning fireplace and American kitchen overlooking a fantastic lamia (Salento terrace) for "al fresco dining" under a natural shade of bougainvillea, with a wooden table that comfortably accommodates 10 people , view on olive trees, prickly pears and lemons.
The sleeping area has three double bedrooms with air conditioning and ceiling fan, two with private bathroom and one with a bathroom next door (one of the double rooms can become a double room).
In the basement there is another double or twin room with private bathroom which in rare cases we provide to guests.
In the basement of the villa there is also a room with a wood stove for those who want to enjoy making pizza, possibly in the middle season.
In the garden there are various parking spaces, two of which are covered under a pergola of vegetation.
In front of the house under the pergola a pleasant area for relaxation, reading and meditation and always in front of the house a nice round table with 4 chairs and a built-in bench.
The Capperaia, enchanting, entirely in stone built by the owner, imitating the pajare, typical Salento buildings for the shelter of the tools in the olive groves, is located in front of the swimming pool, is an open space with a kitchenette, a double masonry bed, an antique fireplace in stone that allows a pleasant and romantic stay even in the cold season, it is however equipped with air conditioning. Two beds can be added on request. The bathroom is in Lecce stone.
The whole house is equipped with heating system including the basement but is made available only at the express request of the guests and the consumption of methane is charged to them.
The beds in the villa are 6 + 2 in the Capperaia where on request it is possible to add two more beds. Total 8 + 2.
Basically if the guests are 10 the accommodation will be as follows:
6 in the house, and 4 in the Capperaia (double bed with the addition of two beds). Guests will have to adapt to this accommodation. If preferred, the alternative can be the use of the master bedroom in the basement that has no air conditioning, and two people in the Capperaia.
Beside the pool a large gazebo, with a beautiful stone table for 10 people, and another gazebo with 4 armchairs and small tables to converse and read in the pool area. Also in the pool area there is a delightful stone table for 4 people to play cards, write or make board games.
There are 10 Marbles beds available.
In the pool area there is an outdoor shower and next to the Caperaia there is another outdoor shower and a tub with shower.
Between the gazebo and the Capperaia, in the garden there is a magnificent barbecue area in typical local stone with sink, gas stove, traditional barbecue and gas, fridge and cabinet with everything you need for a lovely equipment on the stone table under the gazebo (where we ask you not to put candles directly on the table without protection). All this to allow you to enjoy the pool even during lunch or dinner.
The use of the house and the swimming pool is exclusive

RECOMMENDATION FOR GUESTS: I recommend guests to follow the rules of the garbage that I send before their departure. On the indicated days the garbage must be put out of the concello so that it is withdrawn by the competent body. Garbage should not be left at home on departure.
