We booked here because it was within walking distance to the big E. The property was run down. The furniture was missing draw pulls, the edges of the furniture were missing the edge pieces, the curtains were so old the the rubber lining was cracked and peeling, and there was mold around the tub. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room but no coffee maker and no breakfast as advertised. The front desk person said the town hasn’t allowed them to serve breakfast.because of Covid. If I had known I would have come with food because there really isn’t any place close by to buy food. The tv was new and the bed was not too bad. I’d say there has been many years of neglect of the facilities.

Property needs maintenance upgrades almost everywhere. The hotel smells terribly. The area is not safe, pawn shop and 24 hour liquor store / vape shop are the closest businesses to the hotel and only a few steps away. Electronic key access to several of the doors has been disabled.

Very nasty dirty place , the guy at the desk didn’t say a word to us he was on the phone with India. We pretty much checked our selfs in. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom.

The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. The keys didn’t work for the first room they had given us. They gave us a different room so we wouldn’t have to wait while they figured out why, which was wonderful. The rooms were in need of some tlc and updating. My spouse and I felt uncomfortable in the area that the hotel was in as well. I would suggest the hotel maybe make guest aware that as well

Owner is dishonest, DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Pros: nothing
Cons: Honest ownership
My family reserved a room at this hotel. We checked in, carried our bags to our room, and continued to unload our car. We had one extra child than listed on the online checkin- the owner stated we had too many people (2 adults, 3 children - occupancy listed on our receipt) and could not stay. We loaded our car and left, telling him to cancel our reservation. He had every right to say we could not stay because of the number of people in our party, but he should have then cancelled our reservation and refunded our $$. He did NOT refund our charges, and when contacted, he lied to Travelocity, telling multiple stories as to why he would not refund. First he said we never showed, then he said we were offered another room which was not true. He refused to refund our $$ and LIED about it. Do not stay in a place that is run by dishonest people!!!

Nice Hotel

The hotel was very clean and the staff were very curtious! The bed was very comfy and the room was pretty large. Continental breakfast with waffles, cereal, and bagels! The one downside was that there was no elevator, but the attendant at the desk offered to carry my bags upstairs. Very convenient to Springfield downtown area.

Big E

We would definitely stay here if we were going to the Big E again. It's right across the street! The staff was genuinely nice, there were complimentary meals, breakfast and dinner. A buffet dinner was served at about 8:30 - 9 till 10-10:30. Interesting selection, and good. This was actually practical as the Fair stays open till 10 pm. There is an exercise room, but the pool was not up and running, the snack/soda machine was down, and there was no phone in the room to call down to the front desk. Our ac was noisy, but they put in a new one as soon as it was available. The room was clean with plenty of room, including the bathroom. The plusses far out way the negatives, and not having to use your car to get to the fair was fabulous.
