Welcome to your penthouse apartment in the sky. A quiet, beautify finished, bright, city center getaway. Revel in gorgeous views over the rooftops of St Andrews, wonderful sunrises and sunsets and fine accommodation all in the comfort of home.

Only two-three minutes walk to the Old Course and steps from all the restaurants, shops and action of the city center.

The space
Alexandra place dates back to the late 18th century. The beautiful and imposing stone building first served as a home to golfer gentlemen and visitors. In the 19th century it became a luxurious hotel and more recently it has been converted into wonderful, roomy and bright apartments.

Three minutes away from the Old Course and the West Sands, right in the city center with its bars, restaurants and quaint bookshops - yet quiet enough so you enjoy the luxury and pleasure of St Andrews in complete peace. The Penthouse Apartment at Alexandra Place is a perfect base for golfers, tourists and lovers of culture. It's no wonder that Prince William and Catherine Middleton - Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - lived just across the street during their studies at the University of St Andrews.

This place was in spectacular location to downtown St. Andrews. We were able to walk to everywhere. Street parking was free and there was a pub down the stairs. Hosts were great in providing favorite pubs and places to see. Would recommend staying here in the future!!!

By far this was the best flat that we stayed at in Scotland. The flat was very comfortable and felt like home! Has everything that you could possibly need. The owners leave very detailed instructions and videos on how to enter the flat. They also leave you the most amazing places to eat at, all were delicious. I would definitely stay here again!!

Two Night Vacation Stay

We found the apartment convenient to the bus station....just a few hundred feet away. Nice neighborhood. Quiet in the evening and right at the end of a great street for restaurants/bars/walking. Very central. It is bigger than appears in photos (sometimes you expect the opposite). Lots of natural light. Always a plus to have a walk in shower. Clean, new and comfortable. Would rent here again if back in St. Andrews.

Cozy home away from home in St. Andrews

We couldn’t have enjoyed this cozy apartment in St. Andrews more! Not only is it perfectly located in the the middle of town, but it truly felt like home with all of its comforts! Thanks for allowing us to enjoy, and we look forward to our next visit. Hopefully soon!

Luxurious it’s not 


Property is well located and spacious. However calling it luxurious is way off the mark!! Classed as a two bedroom property in narrative on Vrbo site but one of the rooms has no hanging space for clothes or mirror, very basic with pull out bed to make bigger than a single. Unfortunately this room was not even made up and although owner said he was unaware it was needed, as only two guests, (booking stated mother and daughter, why would we book two rooms and sleep in one) surely in any circumstance all rooms should be ready for occupancy. On informing owner directed to spare bedding to make up the bed, this was unironed, ill fitting and terrible quality. Other issues with cleanliness, marked fixtures and fittings and quality of furnishings. i.e. Curtains to bedrooms, flimsy so light floods rooms at dawn. Had to purchase eye masks to try and sleep beyond 5 am. Disappointed property did not live up to listing, certainly wouldn’t have paid nightly amount for what can not be classified as luxurious. Regrettably paid up front.
