We were traveling across country and stopped at the Hyatt for the evening checked in about 1:30 AM. Got up to the room and immediately noticed my droppings and my pregnant fiancé saw a mouse run across the floor called to the front desk. Ask them for a refund or to change rooms they offered to change rooms and give a $35 Starbucks card. We stayed on the same floor and moved to a different room and as soon as we walked in my three year year-old and fiancé saw another mouse and evidence of mice nesting so we decided just to leave and request a refund. The front desk attendant was excellent and said yes we would be granted a refund through Expedia where we booked, but we would need to speak to the manager at 8 AM for the official approval. Got an email at 8:30 AM saying that our request for a refund was not approved because they did not have mice and did not believe us, when we actually saw them had to escalate through Expedia and Expedia ended up covering the refund because the Hyatt would not the manager Jeff there is not conducive to customer service.

The room smelled like a chain smoker lives there. This was the first hotel that I ever stayed in that I would assume allows guests to smoke in. Or, they would have taken care of the smell. Before, allowing guests to occupy the room.

The hotel is located right beside the Arch park. Peaceful area to walk. There is nothing else close to the hotel, and prices at The Brewhouse and Ruth’s Chris inside the hotel are expensive. Sadly, the downtown area is “dead” for a large city! It’s a taxi or Uber ride to get anywhere, unless you like long walks. (Some homeless people not far from the hotel, on the way to the convention center.) The king size room we had was nice except for the bathroom. I think they converted a coat closet in to the bathroom, it was so small! No lighting in the shower; the glass door opens out, so the bathroom door has to be closed to get in or out of the shower; the shower floor is a bit slick, and there are no safety bars to hold on to. There is a long counter across from the shower, but only one sink. And the toilet is crammed in the space in between! No room to even turn around! Two people cannot use this bathroom! The bar that everyone was raving about is closed for remodeling. That’s fine, if it needed it, but that should be noted on their website and third party websites. Our floor was like a sauna when we went to our room, but thankfully that was rectified after we and many others told guest services about it. If you want a comfortable place to sleep, this will work, but not much else.
