Cumberland Queen Cottage

Our family owns the ferry service to Cumberland Island. The cottage pays tribute to the Ferrys that have taken passengers to the Island for the past 30 years. The Cumberland Queen was the first ferry. The current ferrys are The Cumberland Princess, The Cumberland Lady and the Cumberland Queen II. We have two original wheel house windows from the Cumberland Queen that were salvaged after it sank during hurricane Irma in 2017. You will have a two block walk to board the Cumberland Queen II on your visit to beautiful Cumberland Island. You will have views of the St. Marys River from your front porch and bedroom 2. The back patio overlooks the History Walking Park. Many restaurants and shops are within walking distance from the cottage.

This townhome has recently been renovated with new appliances and furniture. Each bedroom has a full bath and smart TV. There is a half bath downstairs. Fully stocked kitchen with new appliances and washer and dryer. Dining room accommodates 4-6, also dining on the patio. Large smart TV in living room, free high speed internet. Seating on front porch with river views.

Cumberland Queen Cottage exceeded every expectationFrom the moment we arrived, it was clear this property is exceptionally well cared for. The house was immaculate, and the linens and cleanliness were first-rate throughout. The owner was responsive and attentive, which made the whole experience seamless from booking through checkout.The location in St. Marys is a real asset. Easy walk into town, a beautiful dock and pier on the river right across the street, and a park directly behind the home. It’s a quiet, charming setting that fits the area perfectly.Would absolutely recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the area, especially if you’re heading over to Cumberland Island.

This was our second stay at this property. The cottage is extremely clean and is so cozy. It has all of the comforts of home. St Mary’s is becoming our favorite place to visit.

The home itself was absolutely beautiful—clean, well-decorated, and exactly as pictured. We truly enjoyed the space and the overall comfort during our stay.Unfortunately, our experience with the host significantly impacted our visit. Communication was difficult and, at times, felt intrusive. The property has a Ring doorbell camera, which we understand is common for security, but it seemed to be used to closely monitor our comings and goings. When our adult children stopped by to visit (they were not staying overnight), the host immediately sent an invoice for additional guests without reaching out to ask for clarification or discuss the situation.This approach felt more accusatory than hospitable and left us feeling uncomfortable and, honestly, a bit harassed during our stay. Clear and respectful communication would have made a big difference.While the home itself is lovely, I would encourage future guests to carefully review the host’s policies and be aware of how strictly they may be enforced.

The beautifully decorated cottage was conveniently located and the views were spectacular. The kitchen was well stocked for eating in, and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast on the front porch and dinner on the back deck. The dock across the street and the walkability to St. Mary’s was a plus.

Cumberland Cottage is stunning! It is perfectly appointed, extremely clean, comfortable, and convenient; everything was beyond expectations. Communication with the property owner was prompt and incredibly welcoming.

Cottage is beautifully decorated, comfortable living areas, fully equipped kitchen, with areas for outside sitting. Within walking distance to boardwalk and downtown. We captured amazing sunrises and sunsets.

Excellent property. Very clean. Close to everything. The host was very responsive to all questions. The only thing I could see an issue for older folks would be that the bed height was very high. Really liked the seating area and tv in each bedroom. Would def stay again if in the area!!

Such a beautiful town home! The furnishings were top notch from the inviting decor, comfortable beds, down feather pillows, kitchen supplies, beach chairs and more! The townhome was so clean and fresh we didn’t want to leave! Perfect location to explore the quaint town of st. Mary’s and the history surrounding the area. Everyone, including the host, Amy, was so friendly and inviting. We enjoyed learning about this area as we explored all of the beautiful sites surrounding St. Mary’s island! Thank you, Amy!

Lovely! Comfortable, clean, well-appointed home. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Walkable to downtown St. Mary’s and the Cumberland Ferry. And Amy was quick to respond to our questions.
