Not the best, not the worst
When searching for a vacation rental, I am very picky about the decor, view and location. This was our 2nd time visiting Indian Rocks Beach but unfortunately the condo we rented last year (which was amazing), was out of our budget this year. I spent two weeks looking through various listings in the area and settled on Sun and Sea B4. The pictures and the view with palm trees was the best I could find under $3000 for the week.
First, Iâll start with the cons:
1) upon arrival condo was 84 degrees, AC was not working properly but we turned it off then back on, set it to 65 and it finally got comfortable. Overnight it started getting too warm again and was 76 when I woke up. Husband took the thermostat off the wall, disconnecting it. When he reconnected, it worked fine the rest of the week.
2) Both showers had mold/mildew in several areas. We went out to buy mildew remover bathroom spray, and cleaned it ourselves. In a world where commercial cleaning protocols are supposed to be stricter, itâs obvious the showers had not been sanitized for a while.
3) there were tiny bugs coming in around the kitchen window and onto the countertops
4) coffee pot was not working (we went out to buy a new one)
5) refrigerator water dispenser not working, so we bought purified water to use for coffee
6) kitchen sink faucet was loose and missing the button for the spray feature
7) rented two beach umbrellas from the office, both locking mechanisms were broke
8) flush chain in the master toilet came off so we had to pull the drain valve up in the tank by hand until we could go buy pliers to fix it (at that point we were tired of having to report issues and having maintenance come in the condo so we did it ourselves)
Now, the pros:
1) Any and every problem that we reported, the office had someone out to take care of it. The ladies in the office were super nice. Management refunded our cleaning fee due to the moldy shower and reimbursed us for the coffee pot. I appreciate their prompt responses to all of the issues.
2) This is one of the nicer decorated condos in the area in this price range, from what I can tell researching rentals.
3) Having a full sized washer and dryer in the unit was nice. And, unlike many vacation rentals, they worked perfectly, drying in one cycle.
4) There is a tailgate tent in the master and we left a new beach umbrella.
Overall, I might stay here again, but will probably try a new area next year.
