We stayed in this unit in 2023 and left a review. They did add a pull out couch to the unit so I was thankful for that as our teenage son had a bed this year.
Pros-great location to some restaurants and of course the great beach. Unit was big and clean.
Cons-The condo complex itself needs some serious updating. One elevator did not work for most of our stay so it was very inconvenient as the complex was full with lots of people. Our stove quit working on the 3rd day which prevented us from being able to cook food we bought. We had to throw a lot of that away when we left which is pretty disappointing. 3 beach towels for the entire condo. I had to buy beach towels and left them there as I didn't have room in my suitcase to bring them home. The master bedroom needs shades on the windows to block out light. The headlights from cars from the parking lot and the sun coming in the morning doesn't allow for you to sleep in. It's SO bright.
We did enjoy our time.
This condo is in a great location and the beach access it excellent. We enjoyed our stay but were disappointed in a few areas. Upon arrival we found the unit wasn't thoroughly cleaned, like dirty spots on the countertop and stovetop and dust/hair in the corners and along the baseboards. The closets in the master bedroom were unusable as they were full of beach items (chairs, tent, toys), remodeling supplies, and pictures. Could only have a few pieces of clothes up. The shower curtains had rust stains in the bathrooms. Also, the state of the pots and pans were really not acceptable. The non-stick surfaces were deeply scratched to the point of the coating coming off and pots had not been properly cleaned (black stains that had to be scrubbed off). Things to don't expect for a nearly $5k a week condo. We got things cleaned up and bought a new skillet so it wasn't the end of the world and didn't ruin our week. I guess we just expected more for the price we paid.
Sure, we could have reached out immediately to the rental company when we arrived, but our vacation had started and who wants to be intruded upon by a cleaning crew when you are trying to settle in for the week.
On a positive note, the furniture was nice and the beds were comfortable.
This unit has it pros and cons.
Pros-
The location of the beach and some fun little restaurants were excellent. Close to the grocery store, CVS, and other stores.
The beach was terrific. Always clean and well maintained.
Covered parking for all vehicles which I appreciated.
Lots of space in the unit for 6 people.
Not far from John's Pass.
A great place to grill near the beach and super clean nice pool. Very quiet area. Sunsets from our unit were amazing every night.
Cons-
This unit advertised it sleeps 6 (2 king beds and a pull-out sofa sleeper). When we arrived we discovered that there was no sofa sleeper and we needed that third bed. I called the property manager and they did bring me a blow-up mattress. It did have to be out in our living room for a full week. Not ideal! We were compensated with gift cards for the mistake.
The unit was sparse. Decor very minimal. No beach chairs were supplied so I had to purchase beach chairs and leave them behind due to not being able to travel home with them. The bathroom towels were so cheap that when you dried off you were left with white fuzz all over. I made the mistake of washing a towel with some clothing and it came out covered in fuzz.l. At one point the elevator code (only way up to your unit) quit working and we were stranded for a bit downstairs. We also had the city inspector knocking at our door at 9am one morning to come in our unit and look at our windows. We were still in PJs.
Overall great time!
