Beautiful Waterfront Historic Home near the Pier Village!
Welcome to the Pilot House, a beautiful historic home on the St. Simons Sound!
Pilot House has been owned and cared for by the same family since it was built in 1927, giving this home a unique and rich history. Even its name is a nod to the Pilot House's history; it has been owned by several generations of harbor pilots. While it is one of the oldest homes in the area, it has many modern comforts and amenities. The location is perfect: a dead-end street just past the Pier Village. You can walk to the popular shops and restaurants in the Village while you enjoy the fresh island breeze. You also won't be far from the many public beach accesses on the island! You can sometimes access the beach at the pier during low tide, but the next closest access would be about a mile away from this home.
Enjoy views of the Sound in every bedroom and plenty of outdoor seating on the screened porch. Watch the ships and boats go by and take in the island air, which perfectly pairs with a morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine. You may even get lucky and spot a few dolphins out in the Sound! Hang out indoors if you'd like - there are two sitting rooms with plenty of space to spread out.
This home has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and 3 floors. The first floor has both sitting rooms, a formal dining room, an updated and spacious kitchen with a breakfast area, full-sized laundry room, bedroom, and bathroom. The kitchen has been thoughtfully furnished with brand-new cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and a new wine fridge. The bedroom on the first floor has a king bed, walk-in closet, and TV. The bathroom has a shower/tub combo. On the second floor you'll find two more bedrooms and bathrooms, both having access to a balcony looking out to the sound. At the top of the stairs, the bedroom to the left has a king bed, walk-in closet, TV, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, and its own sitting room with another TV. The other bedroom on this floor has a king bed, TV, lots of closet space, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a stairwell that will lead you to the third floor. The third floor has the fourth bedroom, furnished with a queen bed, TV, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
