My husband Chris and I have lived on St. Thomas for over 20 years. He came to dive, I came to sail. We met by chance and discovered we both have a love of the water and the Caribbean life style. Chris is very talented and knew he wanted to live here permanently, so he built a house on the top of the hill. We got married in 1995, and often talked about making the home we love accessible to guests.
In 2012 we built are prefect Caribbean Cottage. It is a Caribbean dream cottage with spectacular views. We face into the trade winds so there is always a breeze over the porch. Facing East we have stunning sunrises over Pillsbury Sound with St. John in the background.

I'm sure up will love it too. The spacious porch is a perfect way to enjoy your first cup of coffee or to sit back in the evening and watch the colors change over the islands with a cool beverage in your hand. The trade winds will keep you cool as you sit outside from breakfast to diner, and of course if needed there is air conditioning.

My husband, Chris, and I live on the property. We will help you enjoy your vacation in any way we can. Just ask for local tips on restaurants and activities.

This cottage was ideal! Spectacular views of Red Hook, St. John, and more. The room was perfect, and the cottage was spacious. Maxine and Chris were the perfect hosts. They gave great beach advice and were always accommodating. We cannot say enough good things about our stay!

Great location

Easy access to all the Redhook restaurants and the Ferries. Owners were very helpful with questions about the area. It's high up on the hill so there are great views.

It’s a nice little cottage with wonderful balcony and spectacular view. Maxine was delightful, helpful & responsive. We really enjoyed our stay and the proximity to dining and shopping establishments, and the ferry terminal.

Wonderful!

We booked this property when we had to make last minute travel plans and it was everything it advertised! Beautiful view and perfect for a couple. We loved having a full kitchen and the beautiful deck. We did rent a car and unless you’re looking for some serious cardio up that hill I’d recommend it. We loved our stay!

Loved the views. It was right on the harbor so was noisy early mornings. The driveyway was steep but we were warned about this. Parking was limited but also warned. Hostess had everything we needed for the beach which was a great surprise!

Our stay was more than we could have imagined. The view was absolutely beautiful...We woke up every morning at 6am just to see the sunrise! Butterflys, hummingbirds, flowers...they were everywhere! Maxine and Chris are wonderful people! Thanks for sharing your part of the world with us!

My partner and I took a vacation to the Virgin Islands for the first time in August. We chose to stay in Redhook because it was near many beaches, restaurants and shops. The cottage was a cozy and comfortable place and our view was astonishing! We couldn’t get enough of it, and the place was well kept and it offered many amenities that it made our stay extremely convenient. Thank you Maxine, Chris and louie for your hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to one day return to this amazing place 💗

Beautiful views and walkable to town!

My partner and I stayed for 15-days. We had a wonderful experience. Max & Chris made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We rented a car for the first week and didn't have a car the second. The cottage is close enough to town to walk down for dinner or for a grocery run. You can also walk to Sapphire beach or catch the ferry over to St. John for the day. Great rental for couples looking for a getaway or single travelers.

Everything was just as stated.... couldn’t have been better from our arrival to the day we had to leave. Max was the greatest.... met us and led us to the house gave us really great advice on restaurants and beaches nearby. house was the best part of our winter break from the cold. A perfect spot to watch the sun come up and enjoy an amazing view no matter what direction you looked. The perfect getaway at a perfect location lionsgate was the best......we will be back. Beautiful location, perfect one bedroom and one bath cottage overlooking USVI. The clean bedroom, bath, kitchen, dining, and living room area was perfectly inviting and cozy for two. Loved the magnificent view from every room. The kitchen is perfectly stocked with everything you need to store groceries, cook, and stay in (we took a recovery day from two days of sun on the beach).Beach towels, beach chairs, snorkel gear provided also!Separately, I recommend considering a rental car for your stay in St Thomas and the cottage. Unless you are staying right on the beach, you will need a car anyway with no feasible walking areas. I admittedly debated it and took the the host's recommendation to rent a car. When you stay at the cottage, the main road is at a significant distance from the cottage, and the road is steep enough to challenge anyone not prepared with the best footwear (or physical training imo). Do not be put off by this, in order to have the best view in St Thomas, you need to drive to the top of the hill. Also, consider making sure you rent the smallest car available since the parking area is shared (it is very snug fit). This is not a slight on the host, the location, or the cottage by the way. As well, I found I needed to be prepared to "share my lane" with everyone else - all the time - regardless of where we went in St Thomas.This VRBO is a true gem... The hosts are wonderful, the property is wonderful, and this VRBO offering is staying on my favorite list!

Lionsgate Paradise

Perfection. Charming Caribbean cottage. High on a hill with unmatched views of the harbor and surrounding islands. Tradewinds that cool the warm temperatures. Cottage has many unique features including handcrafted furniture and mahogany woodwork. Hosts that are warm, welcoming and helpful. Treat it well. We will be back next year. Tom and Carolee, 2024

Beautiful views and great location

Wonderful stand alone cottage with great front porch to take in the views of Red Hook harbor and St John. Location is great for taking advantage of local beaches. It was 20 minutes to Magens bay which was our favorite, Cottage is close to the town of Red Hook which has the best selection of stores, restaurants and Happy Hours!! Hosts are on site and very responsive when we needed anything. Yet you have absolute privacy. They also gave us great tips for things to do. The road up to the cottage is steep and windy ( like many of the roads on St Thomas) so make sure you rent a car that can handle it. We had a Jeep.
