Mountain Log Home LURAY Hot Tub 4 Fireplaces Near Shenandoah National Park

Located near the Luray Caverns and the Shenandoah National Park, the Mare House at Hawksbill Retreat is a roomy vacation rental Log cabin that can sleep up to 8. This Log cabin is perfect for hosting friend get-togethers, family reunions, and multi-family get-togethers because of its quiet setting and calm atmosphere.

Now with very fast HIGH - SPEED INTERNET and ROKU streaming devices in addition to Satellite TV.

The Mare House has three bedrooms and three baths, and each bedroom has its own private bathroom, fireplace, and private deck access with rocking chairs. The bathrooms are all isolated from one another. Each of the bedrooms features a Queen-size log bed topped with a luxurious memory mattress, a TV, and a DVD player. All of the rooms are completely furnished. The living area is furnished with a sofa bed, a fireplace, and a large television.

From the covered wrap-around porch, which is equipped with log rocking chairs and a huge gas grill, you can take in the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The adjoining open deck features a luxurious 6-person hot tub. The backyard features a fire pit, a log style swing, and log bench sitting, all of which are excellent options for unwinding while soaking in the serene setting. In addition, the Mare House features a waterfront view of the one-acre fishing pond that is stocked with fish as well as a communal gazebo that guests can use for special events.

The public swimming pool at Hawksbill Recreational Park is the size of an Olympic pool, and it is located just across from the property. This log cabin rental near Luray and Virginia's Shenandoah Valley provides a family or group of friends with everything they require for a vacation in the Shenandoah Valley at an inexpensive price. You'll never be at a loss for things to do because to the location's convenient access to surrounding points of interest including the Massanutten Four Seasons Resort, Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The host provided a lot of information before we arrived and it was very helpful. The host Misty and Randy were quick to respond when I had a question. We have stayed at numerous places through VRBO and this log cabin is in the top 10. We cannot wait to stay here again. It was a great location to go skiing and tubing.

the hot was clean but the surface was exteremely slipping getting in to it. the overall cabin was very nice the dishes and sliverware had to be washed prior to use, I would still stay again.

Girl's Weekend

The perfect place for my friends and I to relax on a girl's weekend. So many ways to sit and take in the surrounding view. The cabin was exactly as pictured and very clean. The beds were very comfy. Our favorite part was sitting in the hot tub watching the stars come out.

Great family getaway

We had such a wonderful time this weekend.at the rental. It was perfect for two families for four under five. Great layout. Tons of indoor and great outdoor space. We had some spectacular sunrises! The beds were top tier! Great water pressure and loves the heaters in the bathroom. We would definitely stay again! This is our second stay in a hawksbill cabin.

Great Getaway

We were traveling the east coast and picked Hawksbill retreat as a location to meet our son who lives in DC and connect for a week. The property is beautiful, the cabin was great and we especially liked the wrap around porch. There was only three of us so we probably only used half of the unit. The Mare House can accommodate probably 6 people comfortably. The location right outside the Shenandoah National Park was terrific and we also made day trips over to New Market and also Monticello.

Lovely Luray-area cabin

We really enjoyed the place. House is exactly as described. The bedrooms are REALLY big and there's a ton of natural light. We have two kids and they really enjoyed exploring the grounds and the playground across the street. One thing to note is that a lot of the nearby hikes are on the other side of some hills with no road access, so look ahead at any hikes you're planning to do, and make sure you're not an hour's drive away!

Great Escape!

The property was very clean. A little too clean; the strong scent of pine sol took 24 hours to go away. House had everything the add showed. Actually larger than I thought. Fire pit and hot tub were great. From feeling like we had to sign our life away with the rental agreement, I somewhat thought going in we may be bothered a bit by staff/owners; watched per say. That wasn’t the case. I saw a few people mowing and received a friendly wave and that was it. We felt like we had the entire grounds to ourselves. Few very small things. Master shower was not working properly; barely any water pressure. Shower heads probably need a replacement - they were a tad nasty. A few pans in the kitchen probably need a little updating as well. Baking sheets were pretty used. Just as a FYI...the manual can opener in drawer is broken. The fire pit on a clear night was amazing. We brought a blanket and laid down with the fire going and stargazing; it was amazing. Hot Tub was clean and put to use every night. House stayed cold at night, so fireplaces in the bedrooms were a very nice touch. Bedrooms were spacious, plenty of room in the kitchen. I would recommend this property for sure. Was a great 3 night get away with friends. 30 minute drive to hiking in Shenandoah National Park, local restaurants and grocery 10 minutes away and a wine trail not too far as well. Perfect honeymoon!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. It was clean, comfortable, and surrounded by beautiful scenery! About 15mins give or take from the Luray Caverns. Less than 5mins from a lovely little restaurant called the Hawksbill diner. Our stay was so peaceful and everything we dreamed of getting a break from home! 10/10 recommend and would love to stay here again in the future!

Weekend away.

Absolutely gorgeous house! Beautiful inside and out. We spent a long weekend here while hiking Shenandoah NP. House was very comfortable and hot tub was a great treat after a day of hiking the mountains. Only downfall was spotty wifi (at best). It was not really an issue so we did not contact the hosts. Great location for a quiet getaway.

The Mare House/Cabin

What a great mini vacation!!! The Mare Cabin was absolutely wonderful. My sweetheart and I had a great time. The owner stopped by to chat and that just put a personal touch in making us feel welcome. It was nice to check into a clean well kept cabin. I wish that the fireplace would have worked in the Master bedroom for a more romantic appeal, but still a great place to stay. We will go back to stay at one of the Cabins on the hill because the view is breath taking.
