The Best Kenai Peninsula Base Camp.

It’s a picturesque 2 1/2 hour drive through the Chugach Mountains to & from the Ted Stevens International Airport and just 25 minutes to & from the Kenai Municipal Airport, which is a 30-minute flight to Anchorage.
The property is within 1 mile of the World Famous Kenai River and just 15 minutes from the center of Soldotna - home of the world record King Salmon. For your fishing trips on either side of the Peninsula it’s just 1 1/2 hours to Homer or Seward with many little towns along the way and only 45 minutes to the Russian River near the beautiful town of Cooper Landing. There are several scenic pull offs for your photo opportunities too.

This beautiful 2400 sq. ft. 2 story log home sits on 2.5 acres and is set up for large families or a group of friends. It features a charming custom kitchen & dining area, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, TV room, and laundry room. Off the deck there is a large front yard that has a fire pit w/patio, swing set, horseshoe pit, badminton & a basketball hoop in the driveway. Out back there is a covered pavilion with picnic tables, bar stools, other conveniences include a fish cleaning station, a few fishing poles, hip boots and life jackets. A freezer room with an extra refrigerator is also available for your use. The driveway/parking area is oversized and can accommodate RV's, boats or trailers.

This was our second time staying at this property and it was perfect! The owners have thought of everything. The location was great as a base camp, and our large group had everything that we needed to enjoy 7 nights on the Kenai Peninsula. We especially enjoyed the outdoor areas, fire pit, yard games and covered porch. We spent every evening playing games and talking about our adventures from the day. Thanks again, Painters!

Family Salmon Run

Beautiful property that was perfect for the salmon run. With a family of 10 people, this cabin was spacious and met our needs. Owners were fantastic and welcoming. Jodi was so kind to pick up groceries for breakfast due to our late night arrival and offered to let us stay later in the day for our late night departure. We will definitely book again if available when we come back to Alaska.

As advertised!

I don’t think a better VRBO exists on the Kenai Peninsula. Jodi and Erik were outstanding hosts. They have the mindset of trying to set you up with everything you’d need/want on an Alaskan vacation. So thorough and thoughtful. I knew they had supplies but I did not know they took so much time and effort to make sure everything was perfect. Jodi was so responsive if we ever had a question or a need. We had a group of 10 ages 16-71 and everyone had a great time, from fishing, bbq, yard games and recommendations
 everything was perfect!

Great Vacation Stay

Location was very centralized for our itinerary. Kitchen was perfect for cooking and feeding 12 adult men for two weeks. Our host was very accommodating and helpful. Looking forward to coming back in the future!

A slice of paradise in Alaska

We were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this home and property were. We knew it would be from the photos, but in person it's even better! Perfect for the 7 of us! We loved the location! Had a blast playing badminton, smores by the fire pit and just enjoying the surroundings. The house itself is fabulous, great space, super clean and was perfect for our group. Owners were quick to answer any questions, and very helpful with information. We were so sad to leave. Location is perfect as it's in between Seward & Homer. Thank you so much!

The Moose Lodge

We arrived and checked in a little early. Everyone in our family was amazed with the accommodations provided by Jodi and Erik. From the ready to use kitchen to the comfy beds this house, the location and everything about it were just perfect for our 10 day vacation. I would recommend this propety to everyone looking for a quiet, off the beaten path get away. The cow moose and her 2 calves visited often and were a sight for all to see.

Family reunion on the peninsula.

Very nice place with plenty of room. Great kitchen and dining area for entertaining. Beautiful master suite and en-suite bathroom. Upstairs bedroom/ family room was perfect for the kids. Plenty to keep the children occupied and entertained. The swing set was a hit as was the fire pit and making s’mores. Next time we will make plans to go fishing as this is the perfect place for a small or large group to bring back their catch, clean it, store it and cook it. You have the option of cooking and entertaining either indoors or outdoors. Indeed the property owners thought of everything.

Great Experience

We had a great week-long stay here, and everything was perfect! The owners left the most thoughtful welcome gifts and the welcome binder included everything that we needed to know for our stay. We had 3 kids age 3-8 with us, and the outdoor spaces and toys were invaluable. We enjoyed nice evenings on the deck and around the fire pit, and if it was raining, we retreated to the covered area out back and enjoyed the gas fire and yard games. The fishing poles and waders were much appreciated, and the fish cleaning station and large freezer space came in handy. The owners have thought of everything, and we're very responsive to any questions. We would stay again!

Best Vacation Ever

An amazing property with all the appropriate amenities. The owners had great communication, location was easy to find, and my family from the Lower 48 couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else for the summers to come when in Kenai. Perfect Set up for a Family get together

We have stayed at a lot of VRBOs in the past. This is by far the best accommodations we have encountered. The Painters family home was able to accommodate a wide variety of ages 68- 10 months old . The house was spotless and offered many additions that made our stay enjoyable even during torrential rains. The pavilion next to the fish cleaning area was a big hit . The creative hook the fish game was enjoyed by all. The large yard with the swingset and fire pit was a favorite of the grandchildren. Cooking was a breeze in the well stocked kitchen. Too many thoughtful details to mention them all . Had a great time hope to return soon !

Beautiful location

Secluded property with a great out door space. The house worked great for our 2 families. The rooms were so insulated and quiet that it made it easy to sleep at night. Lots of great fishing gear to use and a freezer for fish!
