Discover Hygge River House, a Scandinavian-inspired retreat perched above the Shenandoah River. Designed for warmth, simplicity, and connection, this four-bedroom home blends clean modern design with sweeping views and a calm sense of place. Mornings begin softly with light through the trees, and evenings end by the glow of the fire â a true embrace of `hygge` living.
Main Level â
Step inside to an open kitchen and dining area, fully equipped for home-cooked meals and easy gatherings. Just beyond, the living room offers an all-season electric fireplace, comfortable seating, and natural textures that invite slow mornings or cozy evenings.
Two queen bedrooms sit off the main living area, each designed with soft lighting, restful linens, and a sense of quiet simplicity. A full bathroom is located nearby.
Sunroom â
A few steps down from the main floor, the bright sunroom features wraparound windows and a touch of the homeâs historyâits original record player, now a decorative piece. Itâs an inviting spot for reading, morning coffee, or simply taking in the light.
Lower Level â
Descend to the lower level, where floor-to-ceiling windows open to mountain views. This space includes a movie and game room with a 65â TV, foosball table, and comfortable lounge seating. Three sliding glass doors lead directly onto the lower deck, perfect for relaxing in the sun or unwinding after sunset. A half bath is also located on this level.
Upper Level â
Upstairs, two additional bedrooms provide flexible sleeping space. One features a queen bed and private full bathroom; the second includes two twin beds. Each room carries the same calming design and thoughtful details found throughout the home.
