Rural Cotswold Cottage in grounds of beautiful Nell House

The Cottage at Nell House is a beautiful oak framed conversion sleeping 4 in two bedrooms. It is located on the edge of the small and peaceful country village of Hannington in the South Cotswolds where the counties of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire meet. The village has a "pub" within walking distance and is a great base for exploring the Cotswolds in your car. It is a 90 minute drive from Heathrow Airport.

The cottage has an open plan kitchen living area on the ground floor, with a well equipped kitchen including dishwasher and microwave, and a seating area including two sofas and large TV. There is a twin bedroom on the ground floor as well as a toilet and shower room. The entire upstairs floor is an en-suite double bedroom with separate seating area, sofa and TV. The staircase is open to the ground floor.

The cottage sits in the landscaped grounds of Nell House, with a large decking area, gas BBQ, and outdoor seating for 4. It overlooks the lake and is surrounded by wildlife such as moorhens, ducks, fish and if you're lucky deer and a kingfisher.

There are extensive grounds including a croquet lawn and fields with farm animals.

Unusually for rural areas Ultrafast Broadband of 100 Mbps++ is included making working from the cottage or streaming movies on the Smart TV very easy.

Exactly what we were looking for for our stay in the Cotswolds. This house is situated so beautifully and perfectly we absolutely loved our one-week stay and I was very sad to leave. The kitchen was well equipped, everything was clean and fresh, The bathrooms and kitchen were modern and functioned well, and the owners are the kind of people you want to be best friends with. They gave us a list of nearby places to visit and each location was well worth it. There are animals (horses, sheep, ducks) on the property that only add to its charm. The pond out front is picturesque and I spent hours watching all the wildlife--mostly birds--while painting. The location of Nell House is on the edge of the Cotswolds and provides a lot of flexibility. From here, we could easily access the heart of the Cotswolds, the Downs and Salisbury, the West over to Bath, or north-east toward Stratford upon Avon. It's only a short train ride into London if needed. We would go out of our way to stay here again.

Cute cottage in great location

Relaxing country cottage

Nell cottage is set in rural England a short drive from Swindon and a stones throw from the stunning Cotswolds. The cottage is set in the most stunning grounds and overlooks a large pond which has bird life a plenty, The family who run it are lovely they are helpful and respect your privacy. Their communication with guests is superb. The cottage was clean and had all the facilities required to make yourself comfortable. Including, a fridge, microwave, oven, cutlery and crockery, towels and bedding. They also provide super fast wifi. We stayed a week before returning to Australia and the peaceful surroundings gave us chance to unwind before our long flight home. If you love peace and tranquility and enjoy watching Indian runner ducks and horses, and close proximity to the stunning Cotswolds this is the place for you. Had a great week long stay - day tripping in all directions. Great central spot to visit both Cotswolds and Salisbury Plain! Hosts were great. We were the first guests of the season and so were the test run. No big issues. Had a great time, Jo and James were great hosts

Lovely country cottage

Directions and arrival instructions were accurate and easy to follow. The cottage is well appointed and spacious. Access to the upstairs bathroom is a little restricted but not a significant problem. As mentioned in the owners description, transport is required as there is nothing in the immediate area. However this means it's a lovely quiet countryside environment. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and the lovely area.

Ideal location and facilities. Two separate bedrooms each with own bathroom facilities and space to independently watch tv/relax/IT if necessary and socialise comfortably in the shared open plan dining/kitchen/lounge area. Charming country cottage

Spacious 2 bedroom cottage offered by friendly hosts with Ducks,Horses and Sheep for neighbours. Ideal quiet , relaxing.rural location on edge of Cotswolds in easy reach of many places to visit, shop and eat. We had glorious weather all week and dined outsde every night on the decking beside the large pond.

A special place where you can connect with nature.

The owners live in the main house in close proximity and were welcoming, friendly, helpful and approachable without being intrusive. The grounds (in which we were free to roam) around the cottage are amazing and are home to three horses (and their stables), runner ducks and sheep in a peaceful setting. And there is a lovely big pond at the back of the cottage where breakfast can be enjoyed on a large patio deck. The cottage itself is well equipped and perfect for a couple or a couple with two children. Four adults may find it a little cosy. I am 6’5” in old money and found that head and shoulder room moving around upstairs could be a little awkward but a minor inconvenience considering everything on offer. We certainly enjoyed our week here with plenty to do and see in the area.

Amazing Cottage

Communication was fantastic before we even arrived. Jo and James are incredibly nice. Their daughters are delightful. They all made us feel at home from the start. The cottage is so lovely and much larger than I had anticipated. It was fully stocked with everything we could need for our two week stay. Lots of storage and closet space. The WiFi was super fast. We were able to work from the cottage with no issues. The property is so much more beautiful than I had anticipated (and I had high expectations). The pictures do not do it justice. I can not say enough good things about Nell Cottage and Jo and James. Thank you for making our two week quarantine easy.

A GREAT GET AWAY FROM IT ALL LOCATION

Spent a great week at this property, set in lovely grounds. Perfect for a family who want to get away from it all and enjoy a peaceful location, but still want to be near local attractions for days out. The cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing week away, including a fully stocked kitchen which made self-catering very easy. We loved seeing the wildlife, rabbits, herons, coots and horses in the grounds and around the large pond. Great location and relaxing environment

Enjoyed our stay at the cottage despite weather not being ideal for August. So close to many attractions, towns and cities close by. We visited Bath, Oxford and Stratford up on Avon whilst there and enjoyed them all. We also visited some of the smaller cotswolds villages which were also very nice too.
