Rural Cotswold Cottage in grounds of beautiful Nell House

The Cottage at Nell House is a beautiful oak framed conversion sleeping 4 in two bedrooms. It is located on the edge of the small and peaceful country village of Hannington in the South Cotswolds where the counties of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire meet. The village has a "pub" within walking distance and is a great base for exploring the Cotswolds in your car. It is a 90 minute drive from Heathrow Airport.

The cottage has an open plan kitchen living area on the ground floor, with a well equipped kitchen including dishwasher and microwave, and a seating area including two sofas and large TV. There is a twin bedroom on the ground floor as well as a toilet and shower room. The entire upstairs floor is an en-suite double bedroom with separate seating area, sofa and TV. The staircase is open to the ground floor.

The cottage sits in the landscaped grounds of Nell House, with a large decking area, gas BBQ, and outdoor seating for 4. It overlooks the lake and is surrounded by wildlife such as moorhens, ducks, fish and if you're lucky deer and a kingfisher.

There are extensive grounds including a croquet lawn and fields with farm animals.

Unusually for rural areas Ultrafast Broadband of 100 Mbps++ is included making working from the cottage or streaming movies on the Smart TV very easy.

Un cottage qui a beaucoup de charme

AprĂšs une journĂ©e de visite et de marche dans les Costwolds, c'Ă©tait un vĂ©ritable plaisir de se retrouver Ă  Nell House. La beautĂ© du jardin, la grande clartĂ© et l'amĂ©nagement avec goĂ»t du cottage le rendent trĂšs agrĂ©able quel que soit le temps anglais ! Le cottage est impeccable. En bois, il se trouve juste Ă  cĂŽtĂ© de la maison des propriĂ©taires, Jo et James avec leur deux petites filles qui sont disponibles et chaleureux. Nous Ă©tions 2 adultes et 2 adolescents pour une semaine Hannigton est une bonne base de dĂ©part pour dĂ©couvrir les Costwolds, Bath, Oxford, StoneHenge, Salisbury, Gloucester, Blenheim. Beaucoup de sites entre 1h00 et 1h30 de voiture ou moins. Pour les pointilleux : Il convient de faire attention Ă  ne pas se cogner dans l'escalier quand on est grand (1m80). De mĂȘme l'Ă©tage Ă©tant en soupente, il faut se pencher pour passer la porte de la salle de bain du haut et faire attention lorsque l'on se relĂšve aprĂšs avoir mis le smartphone en charge. On prend vite le pli. La piĂšce du haut n'est pas fermĂ©e : pas de porte, l'escalier arrive directement dans la piĂšce. Cela participe du charme de cette grande piĂšce trĂšs agrĂ©able. En contrepartie, il n'y a pas d'isolation sonore avec la salle au rez de chaussĂ©e. Les matelas, plutĂŽt mous, n'ont pas fait l'unanimitĂ© entre nous 4 (comme souvent).

Cute cottage in great location

This cute cottage provided everything we needed for a very enjoyable 5 night stay. Situated in the lovely and quiet grounds of the owners main property who were very engaging and helpful but not intrusive. Great location to enjoy so many beautiful areas of the Cotswolds/Wiltshire.

+ 1st, the hosts: Jo and James, they are nice, likeable and obliging at anytime. Jo, who we met most, had a lot hints for activities and worthwhile destinations. Thank you very much for lending your house to us for a wonderful time. + the house and the property: A nice little oak house on a wonderfully beautiful property. Everything needed for holiday is in place. We felt exceedingly well. + region around Additionally to Jo's very helpful hints we had a perfect home base to starting our day trips to different destinations into the cotswolds and beyond. + weather sunshine and rain are fine and are necessary. Around 90% rain this autumn didn't make holidays constantly a feast. So, Jo and James, please work on that ;), so that we can enjoy a bit more next time to everything mentioned above. Amazing country cottage

Relaxing country cottage

Nell cottage is set in rural England a short drive from Swindon and a stones throw from the stunning Cotswolds. The cottage is set in the most stunning grounds and overlooks a large pond which has bird life a plenty, The family who run it are lovely they are helpful and respect your privacy. Their communication with guests is superb. The cottage was clean and had all the facilities required to make yourself comfortable. Including, a fridge, microwave, oven, cutlery and crockery, towels and bedding. They also provide super fast wifi. We stayed a week before returning to Australia and the peaceful surroundings gave us chance to unwind before our long flight home. If you love peace and tranquility and enjoy watching Indian runner ducks and horses, and close proximity to the stunning Cotswolds this is the place for you. Wonderful house and area

We, and especially our kids, enjoyed the stay in the Nell House Cottage. Everything was very well organized. Our girls loved the animals and the location is good to have day trips to the Cotswolds, Oxford or Stonehenge.

More than phantastic

It was a very peaceful and wonderful time in Nell house with very gentle hosts. They helped us with words and deeds. The cottage was so cosy and clean. The pictures in the Internet were so fine but the reality outranged the pictures. The scene was very idyllic, so it was hard to go away. And we love the horses and the ducks.

Lovely country cottage

Directions and arrival instructions were accurate and easy to follow. The cottage is well appointed and spacious. Access to the upstairs bathroom is a little restricted but not a significant problem. As mentioned in the owners description, transport is required as there is nothing in the immediate area. However this means it's a lovely quiet countryside environment. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and the lovely area.

Ideal location and facilities. Two separate bedrooms each with own bathroom facilities and space to independently watch tv/relax/IT if necessary and socialise comfortably in the shared open plan dining/kitchen/lounge area. Charming country cottage

Spacious 2 bedroom cottage offered by friendly hosts with Ducks,Horses and Sheep for neighbours. Ideal quiet , relaxing.rural location on edge of Cotswolds in easy reach of many places to visit, shop and eat. We had glorious weather all week and dined outsde every night on the decking beside the large pond.

A special place where you can connect with nature.

The owners live in the main house in close proximity and were welcoming, friendly, helpful and approachable without being intrusive. The grounds (in which we were free to roam) around the cottage are amazing and are home to three horses (and their stables), runner ducks and sheep in a peaceful setting. And there is a lovely big pond at the back of the cottage where breakfast can be enjoyed on a large patio deck. The cottage itself is well equipped and perfect for a couple or a couple with two children. Four adults may find it a little cosy. I am 6’5” in old money and found that head and shoulder room moving around upstairs could be a little awkward but a minor inconvenience considering everything on offer. We certainly enjoyed our week here with plenty to do and see in the area.

Amazing Cottage

Communication was fantastic before we even arrived. Jo and James are incredibly nice. Their daughters are delightful. They all made us feel at home from the start. The cottage is so lovely and much larger than I had anticipated. It was fully stocked with everything we could need for our two week stay. Lots of storage and closet space. The WiFi was super fast. We were able to work from the cottage with no issues. The property is so much more beautiful than I had anticipated (and I had high expectations). The pictures do not do it justice. I can not say enough good things about Nell Cottage and Jo and James. Thank you for making our two week quarantine easy.
