We had an amazing stay! We took our 3 and 5 year old girls for a little snow trip. The house was very clean! Perfect layout, bedrooms on the same level downstairs and living area up. Great views of snow out the windows! Furniture and appliances in good shape. Kitchen was good for cooking. We canât wait to stay here again! Also Greta customer service experience with Vacasa. We had a power issue at 8pm with a breaker. It was so easy and nice to talk with a customer service representative and the problem was solved in a few minutes.
There is plenty of room here. The kitchen is adequate for cooking a vacation dinner. Bedrooms downstairs were sparely populated with storage fixtures/furniture. En-suite bath is very small and dark with little storage and the strangest location for a bathroom outlet weâve ever seen.
Many of the houses weâve stayed at in Tahoe Donner are 40 yrs old this place has some real issues. Namely with the heating system. We could count on our sinusâ being irritated when we needed to be in the house.
Local Vacasa people were very good about dealing with any issue we had during our stay, even if Corporate was quite scattered.
House is near cross country ski center, which we would have used more but they were charging over $60 to ski there. $20 for a trail pass at Royale Gorge. The Tahoe Donner short term tenant pass just gets you the privlage to pay $$$ for some of the other facilities. The fitness center is nice but the most expensive gym weâve ever visited.
Over all staying there had some challenges but we were generally comfortable. Nobody died.
We had a lovely short stay with our family (children 2 & 4) plus grandparents. The house was clean with a nice comfortable layout.
The kitchen has been newly remodeled. It could be a little more equipped for the group that intends on cooking but we made do for our short 2-night stay. The dishwasher leaked but they promptly responded when we notified them and they worked around our family schedule to get it repaired.
The downstairs spare bedroom had a broken bed frame. We were able to fix it but it was disappointing on arrival. The bedrooms are well sized although the mattresses are very hard (fairly normal for a rental).
The overall outdoor property was lovely! The decks and outdoor spaces were beautiful and it had a bonus play structure for our family. The only downside was the beautiful creek made for extreme mosquitoes in the evenings so we couldnât be outside.
Overall we had a great stay and for the price everything it was a great house!
The home is very comfortable and a great location for skiing. The home has all the kitchenware for meal preparation and all the appliances needed for everyday living. It was spotlessly clean and ready to go. We really loved the place and hope to return next year.
Cabin was clean enough, but clearly used only as a rental with cheap Ikea furniture. Old spices and random stuff in the kitchen cabinets. Very basic dishes and cooking stuff, but we were only there two nights so it was fine. Beds weren't that comfortable. But that being said, cheapest option for the Truckee Tahoe/Donner area for our group, and not bad enough that we wouldn't stay again. Basic cabin, bring some of your own bedding if you want to be extra comfortable including your own pillows and maybe some extra blankets. Yes, the upstairs is blazing hot and the downstairs is cold. We just opened the windows upstairs. Extra floor heater downstairs appreciated. HOT water and plenty for all of us to shower.
