Casa Purnell is a self catering 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, Las Gaviotas villa with an 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean. Remodeled Kitchen and bathrooms!
The space
Casa Purnell is a self catering 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, Las Gaviotas villa with an 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean. It is situated next to a walkway which leads the beach, oceanside association pool, jacuzzi and shuffleboard. The tennis court is located about 5 houses away. (See map for precise location).

The villa comes with a kitchen which is stocked with dishes, utensils and condiments. Appliances include a gas cook top, toaster oven, microwave, dishwasher, blender and coffee maker. There is a master bedroom with a king bed and private bath. The second between has two twin beds. The bathrooms come with linens and towels.

The patio has a BBQ and fire table for your enjoyment. Other luxuries include a flat screen TV with local cable, DVD player, fireplace and of course, WIFI.

240 Volt 40 amp plug (NEMA 14-50) in dedicated parking spot to charge electric vehicle.

Las Gaviotas is the "crown jewel" of Baja California. It is a gated community resort with 24 security located about 45 minutes south of the U.S/Mexico border between Rosarito Beach and Ensenada about 5 minutes away from the Puerto Nuevo lobster village. If you are looking for a stress free relaxing environment, this is the place to be. Sorry, no pets are allowed.

Note: This house has a strict limit of 4 people and no day guests are allowed. The guards are very strict about this policy and any extra people will not be allowed access the community. NO PETS ARE ALLOWED BY THE HOA

We loved our stay

The house was perfectly sized for our family of four. We enjoyed some beautiful nights on the balcony with the firetable. The house was very clean and Las Gaviotas is a Perfect Place for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle.

Clean and cozy

Had a great stay at the house. Very clean and comfortable beds and linens! Loved the big bathtub in the second bathroom. House had everything you needed and more in the kitchen. Would definitely come back and stay again!

Great weekend trip!

Loved this house. Right on the path to go straight to the pool and beach area. Comfortable beds and all the kitchen stuff you will need. My favorite part was the fire place on the patio. Loved sitting there during sunset with a glass of wine.

Great place!

Relaxing and beautiful. Good view. Spacious and very comfortable. After a day's of adventure it was so nice to come back to a big comfortable bed, spacious shower with good water pressure, comfy couch...all the things I want from home. Clean and quiet too.

Really nice place!

We loved the round-shaped living room, very welcoming. The house has all you may need. Although the bedrooms are small, the beds are very comfy. Beautiful view from living room and balcony which was important to us. Easy check in and check out, Zach was very responsive.

Great Place!

We really liked the unique brick work and coziness of the place. The house is very cool, clean and the community is very safe. The surf break is the best right I have surfed in Northern Baja. I can imagine the beach might get a bit small and the hot tub may get a bit crowded during busy holiday weekends, but no complaints from our group. We will definitely be back. Thank you Mark!!!

Great spot!

House was great, Location was great, view was great. The owner is very responsive, polite, and helpful. This home has everything you need for a quick getaway. I was shocked at how much was already supplied for us. The house itself is very spacious and comfortable. It is located directly on the path that leads down to the pool/beach. I went down there for some light surfing and relaxation. It exceeded my expectations in every area.

Everything works!

I have been to Las Gaviotas dozens of times and have stayed all over the community. Many places are a bit dated, but it adds to the charm. Unfortunately, this charm includes a crucial, broken or malfunctioning something (an appliance, a light, etc). Everything in this unit worked great, the location was good, it was a perfect spot for couples, and it was very quiet. The fire table in the patio is very nice and the entire unit was very clean.

Casa Purnell Great location inside Gavioty communityand view while giving you privacy

If you are planning on visiting Rosarito, I would recommend Las Gaviotas. It is a nice, tranquil and gated community next to the beach. We stayed at Casa Purnell. I loved the views. You can see the ocean from the living room area and balcony. The pool and jacuzzi are a short walk away. I like how is close enough to the beach (3-5 minutes walking) and at same time you get privacy, something you don't get if you rent a house right in front of beach or near main pathways. The interior appliances and electronics are moderate, but we were mainly there for location and view. Wifi worked well in all rooms. I would recommend staying here, cute home and nighly stay is reasonably priced.

Such a cute spot! Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Loved checking in and lighting up the fire pit outside and enjoying the view. I highly suggest grocery shopping in the US or at least before checking in. Once you check in you won’t want to leave. Puerto Nuevo is around the corner. It can be exhausting dealing with the vendors and the food is pretty expensive for Mexico. Walking to Ollie’s Pizza place was great. It’s now our favorite pizza place. Our 5 year old was excited about the pool and beach being so close and she would play in the little loft upstairs. The security is strict and won’t allow children in the jacuzzi which was kind of a bummer. We went during the winter so it was too chilly for the Pool. The owner does mention in the handbook that the lights will trip if you run the heater while the bathroom lights are on but we had read it after our lights went out and the closet where the circuit breaker was locked. Other than that our stay was smooth. The staff and other guests in the gated community were so friendly. Great place to let the kids run around worry free in Mexico.

Great family get away

We had a great experience. Owners were super accommodating, let us check in a few hours early because the property was ready. Quick response to my questions, beautiful views easy to walk to other properties, beach and pool. We stayed with our 2 little kids 2 and 1 years old. There is a few steps inside but it ended up working fine. Rented in November the house gets very cold but there were a few space heaters that worked great! Would recommend to others.

Charming retreat at Las Gaviotas

We were at Las Gaviotas for a wedding and it was wonderful. From the start, Zach and Mark had been proactive communicators which certainly helped for my first visit to Mexico! The house itself is very charming and surprisingly private (compared to some of the other houses). The basic necessities were provided (it's so nice to wake up and be able to make a fresh pot of coffee without having to find a store). One cannot underestimate how lovely it is to have potable water from the tap in Mexico. The house is located close to the main gate and also close to the community areas which was amazing! Pro tip: Call Miry for a massage (her details are in the house rules) Pro tip #2: Check out the Bleu coffee shop across the highway from Las Gaviotas (tho look both ways before crossing the highway!)

Thank you for letting our family rent out your beautiful Las Gaviotas home! We enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable, well-designed space. It had all we needed - everything was user-friendly, we found the gated community to be family-friendly, clean and amenable to our needs. Beach Front vacation

My family and enjoyed our stay, property has everything you need! View is incredibly beautiful of ocean front property secure with security gaurd and Pool is clean and heated. Inside home is clean, cozy, theres internet and cable beds are very comfortable with full kitchen with all you need to cook. Overall our family enjoyed our stay and will be coming back.

Paradise while in Baja

I am no stranger to Las Gaviotas and CASA PURNELL is one of the best homes I've stayed at. It is a very cozy home, perfect for a family getaway or a couples getaway. The view is absolutely beautiful and conveniently located to the pool and beach. Zach was very helpful with all the rental arrangements and made me and my husband feel very welcomed in his home.
