The rooms are unique,clean and functional. Staff is there should you need anything. Lots of shops within a few minutes of walking. Access to buses is a couple of minutes away. Kitchen access is a plus!! Been here multiple times and I always come back!!

Looking at the entrance from the street, you may doubt whether you should choose this place, but it turned out to be perfect for my purposes. I stayed in a room that included a private washroom. I was travelling alone, so safety was a priority. I felt very safe and secure in my room. The room was very clean, and the bed was oh-so-comfortable. My room was also very quiet, especially considering that the guest house is on quite a busy street. The Kaisar Guesthouse is quirky in all the right ways, and I had a very comfortable stay at a reasonable price.

I stayed at Kaisar Guest House for 2 nights to attend a concert in Toronto. I was very satisfied, considering it was one of the cheaper options I could find. The person who checked me in was friendly and great at explaining the house rules. The room itself (room 12), while nothing spectacular, was decent considering the price. It's perfect as a place to sleep in the evening, but not somewhere you'd probably want to linger (which shouldn't be a problem if you're going out and doing things in the city). In my opinion, this makes it perfect for short stays (e.g. 2-3 nights). There's also a lot of great food places nearby, and it's right next to the streetcar stop which is super convenient for getting to the subway. If you don't mind walking and the weather is decent, the subway is also not too far of a walk. The neighbourhood can seem a bit "rough", but I never felt unsafe. My only solid complaint is that you might get woken up by noise. My 1st night was totally fine, but on the 2nd night I woke up before I wanted to around 7am because I could hear loud talking. I was able to go back to sleep right away, so not a big deal for me (plus 7am isn't super early), but something to just be aware of. Overall, I'd highly recommend Kaisar Guest House if you're looking for a budget-friendly and convenient place to stay in Toronto for a couple of nights.

This accommodation gives you the bare minimum of what you need for an overnight stay. We had neighbours who hogged the shared bathroom but that is no one else’s fault. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. You have to leave your shoes at the door which was unique to other hostels I’ve stayed in. Kitchen was available to us but we didn’t need it. Also definitely not an accessible space; stairs lead into the building and then to our room.

A room without a window

The room was clean, so was the shower. This is a basic hotel. Very decent for the price. The one thing that I didn't expect, the room lacked a window, which isn't announced in the listing.
