Three Sisters Cottage
Three Sisters Cottage is early Victorian home retaining its original stone walls and some period features.
It is built of stone in a early Victorian manner for a rural dwelling and looks quaint and a bit quirky. A secluded and private residence, accessed by steps from the lane outside
The Garden is enclosed and mainly laid to lawn on both sides at The front of The property. With a decking area BBQ, Dining area. There are beautiful open views of St Marychurch and it's in a semi rural location.
A great base for hiking coastal paths etc, there are several beaches nearby, a golf course 5 mins away
Three Sisters Cottage is a period early Victorian so has a cosy feel. It is a peaceful and reasonably secluded and private residence which is accessed by steps from the lane outside. There are further steps through the garden up to the house.
The Garden is mainly laid to lawn and is on both sides at The front of The property. The back of the property backs on to a hill so all views are to the front. There is a decking area with BBQ and patio table and sun chairs. And a sun room with open views towards St Marychurch and the coastal hills.
The property has old stone walls and the garden is above the lane but enclosed. There are beautiful open views as it is on a valley side.
Bedrooms and bathrooms are cosy sized in keeping with the early Victorian period. There are some period features and a Family Bathroom with a double walk in Shower plus an en suite with Victorian Style roll top bath.
We knew before arriving at the property that there was no hot water and chose to stay as we couldn't find anywhere short notice. The water was still luke warm and the host did everything possible to make us comfortable. When we had problems with the lazy spa she also sent someone around asap. It was a lovely place to stay!
The house is spacious and well designed, with good heating and lots of hot water. It has been decorated well and the bath is lovely. The hot tub needs a while to heat up and we were only here one night, so missed out. The host was welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend as a good base for a break in Torquay.
Uncomfortable house in an unattractive part of Torquay (calling it St Marychurch is stretching it).
The house and garden are poorly maintained with furniture and equipment a mish-mash that appear to have come from cheap second-hand shops. The soft furnishing is ill-matching and oversized, with some stained. The kitchen equipment is well below standard (although there is an attractive collection of classic china tea cups and saucers). The shower in the 'en-suite' bathroom didn't work. The beds are very uncomfortable with mattresses well past replacement date. The quality of work in the decoration and maintenance work both in the house and the garden suggests no care has been given. The standard of tiling and fitting in the bathrooms was shoddy. The electrical wiring runs across the surface of ceilings and skirtings and in places looks unsafe. There is little attention to comfort, with most lighting being ceiling lamps. We had no alternative but to stay, however it was an extremely disappointing experience and wildly expensive for what it was.
