Woman who checked us in spoke barely above a whisper and seemed bothered by just doing her job. She gave us our room number and gave us a map of where our room was. Sent us completely on the opposite side of where our room was so we were walking around looking for a room that didn’t exist where she sent us. Also the other receptionist who was checking in someone else said the room numbers out loud which I thought was a big no no these days.

The "king suite" we were placed in was an old motel room with a king-sized bed. Despite the fact that the property abuts beautiful sandstone mesas, the designers of our row of rooms decided that the single window should face the highway and parking lot rather than the landscape. The room was dark and small and overall very disappointing. The staff could not have cared less. They also had no reply to the fact that the hot tub was not working (a shrug -- "We'll let maintenance know") and that the onsite store was pretty much empty ("Let's see if I can find you a bag of chips that's not all broken"). The restaurant is fine but uninspired -- we opted to breakfast elsewhere after an OK dinner the night before. Torrey is an adorable little town -- if you are coming from Canyonlands, I would recommend driving right by this so-called "Resort" (!) and head to any of the properties that are closer to the town and its fun restaurants and coffee shops.

The cabin is cute, but the spaces are quite small for the price paid. One of the front desk ladies was very kind, but another was surprisingly rude and refused to assist me when it was my turn — making the check-in experience quite unpleasant. On the positive side, the location is good.

The location to Capitol Reef is great. The beds were very comfortable. The room spacious. The amenities great. The only thing keeping me from rating higher is the restaurant service. It took 90 minutes to get seated, order, and receive dinner that was delivered cold. They need more staff and should have told us it would be a wait. Everything else was great.

Our rooms were basic motel style rooms and the decor is very tired. The staff we encountered were indifferent and our “welcome” was robotic and lacked eye contact. Not at all what we expected. We struggled at breakfast as one member of staff said she didn’t speak English so we left and drove into Torrey instead.
