Elk Rapids is only 1.5 miles southwest of the house, great restaurants, shops, a grocery store, and a marina for your visit. Highly recommended are Ethanology Distillery, BOS winery, Short's Pullbarn, and Townline Ciderworks for libations.

25 minutes to the wineries of Old Mission Peninsula, 25 minutes to Shanty Creek, 15 minutes to Grand Traverse Resort golf courses, A-Ga-ming golf course, and Lochenheath. Elk Lake Estate is a wonderful home base.

Welcome to Elk Lake Estate - A perfect gathering place for family and friends, sleeping up to 22 people in 14 beds! Situated on over an acre, with 195' of private Elk Lake frontage, your waterfront paradise awaits.

Bachelor and bachelorette groups are welcome. Family reunions, special vacations, retreats, conferences, Elk Lake Estate is a nice fit with two kitchens and a snack bar (3 full sized refrigerators). Small weddings are considered, please message with details.

5000sqft, 6 bedrooms, 4 with ensuite baths, 1 shared bath, 1 shower room. 14 beds total, 3 king, 3 queen, 4 full, 4 twin.

Indoor and outdoor seating for lounging or dining with 22 people.
Sand Volleyball court, outdoor games, firepit (firewood on site), propane grill, game room with pool table, basketball, and more games. Outdoor Barrel Sauna!!!

Elk Lake is a clear, glacier lake. We have a sandy lake bottom with stone break wall.
Mid-May through Mid-September we have a 100' dock with a 10x20 dock patio over the water. Also provided is a 4000# boat lift, 4000# pontoon lift, and jet ski moorings during the summer. Mid-June the swim raft goes in the water and is anchored 200' off shore.
4 adult sit on top kayaks, 2 kids kayaks, to get ready for lake fun. There are a few lifejackets, but you may want to bring your own, wearing lifejackets is recommended for all water activities (especially for children). Beach towels are provided!

Lakefront living is wonderful and comes with all that nature provides - even bugs - come prepared to enjoy the outdoors. Plans can change, travel insurance is recommended.

Please be considerate of neighbors by observing quiet hours of 11pm to 8am.
Parking for up to 8 vehicles in the driveway, only empty boat trailers may be parked on grass.

The view alone was absolutely breathtaking! We had five adults and seven kids (all age three and under), and everyone had plenty of space to sleep comfortably and spread out. The kids loved the outdoor play area and couldn’t get enough of the sand volleyball court. Having two kitchens was incredibly convenient, allowing each family their own space. We will definitely be back again!

The house is perfect. We had an amazing time. The views of the lake are beautiful and there are multiple places to see it. We are a group of 10 and there was plenty of space for all of us. The house was well equipped for everything (kitchen, outdoors, indoor games, lake and plenty of towels). The location was near Elk Rapids and there was a grocery store right down the street. Our host was so kind and always responded right away with any questions we had. Highly recommend this beautiful home on the lake!!

We had such a great time! We are a group of 11 high school friends who have remained friends for over 50 years! Yes we are old! We rented a pontoon boat with plans to explore Torch Lake one day and Elk Lake another day, however the weather was unusually cold with rain off and on so we cancelled. There was so much to do in the surrounding area. We spent time in Elk Rapids, Bellaire and Alden exploring, shopping and enjoying the lake views. We spent 1/2 a day at Traverse City Resort and Spa treating ourselves to spa appointments. Day Trip to Charlevoix! What a fun town. Great lunch and drinks at Weathervane Restaurant, Gem Car Mushroom House Tour of whimsical one of a kind hobbit style houses, beautiful lake and marina views and shopping on Bridge Street. Our host Jennifer was great. Super attentive with lots of great suggestions. The VRBO was well appointed, comfortable with lots of seating areas and with great views. Well stocked kitchen, beach towels for our use, fire pit, marshmallow skewers - you name it. We all had a great time and are already planning our next trip when we can get some boating in on the lakes! Thank you Jennifer! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We hand painted some rocks and left them around the fire pit. Maybe we’ll start a tradition! đŸ€—

Elk lake estate did not disappoint. It was the perfect location for my sister's bachelorette party. We used the yard for some games and the sauna was amazing after a chilly day on the boat. The kayaks were in great condition too. There were plenty of beds in the house for our large group. This would also be a very family friendly place- will definitely be coming back with my children!

Big enough for ALL Z of us

It’s almost impossible to find a quality place that can easily handle 11 people, but this home does that and more
much more. Not only did everyone get their own bedroom and bathroom, there was enough space for everyone to get together for meals and find their own private space when they wanted some “me” time. We hope to go back even if it is pricey. Just an example of getting what you pay for. My kids equated it to Disney World. You pay more, but you leave with a lot of priceless memories.

This house is perfect for our group of 12. Easy to cook, hang out and enough rooms and beds for all of us. Being right on elk lake with kayak's available was awesome! Minutes from downtown Elk Rapids and short drive to golf courses, casino and downtown TC. Host is super responsive if needed.

Perfect family friendly property

Jennifer was kind enough to allow us to have our wedding at the elk lake estate, in the back yard under the already installed arch. We invited our closest friends and family and spent a long weekend together in the house. Everything went perfect and the house was fully equipped to handle us. The host was amazing in all aspects and we have zero complaints. Our friends and family were left in awe at the lake views and amenities, none of them have ever been to northern michigan before and thanks to the beautiful elk lake estate they are all excited to plan another trip up!

Great home!

We had a wonderful time and the host was extremely fast with her responses if I needed anything or had any questions! The kids never were bored with the endless activities on property. Beautiful dock and clean lake water to swim in. We rented a pontoon and used her lift which was great! We were 27 people and the home slept in comfortably!

Perfect for families!

We had a wonderful experience staying at elk lake estates over the holidays. Our family of 18 slept and played comfortably in the house. The kids had so much to do, between playing outside, in the game room or doing crafts on the tables. They often said “this is so awesome!” Owner decorated the house for the holidays and it was beautiful! Highly recommend to others for any season.

Great Location Fall of 2023

This home is a lot larger in person, then when you see the online pictures. The layout of the home is great!! Plenty of room everywhere, and the seating is perfect for 14 guests. The owner is very attentive to your needs, and responds right away. We were originally going to plan one night of our three nights to go out to dinner, but we ended up enjoying the house so much that we just cooked in all 3 nights. Our trip was October 2023, weather was a little chilly and light rain, but we still managed in one night of a great Bon fire. This home would be a great summer rental too!! We would definitely consider this house again for future vacations.

Wonderful Elk Lake

We spent a week at Elk Lake in this wonderful house. Within 24 hours we knew we wanted it again next year. There were twenty of us from 7 months to 66 years. So much space and areas to play or read or gather together. Everything we needed was there. The house has 2 very well supplied kitchens and so many seating areas inside and out. The lake area had crystal. Lear water fir swimming, kayaking or just replacing on the dock. Close to many outdoor beaches and wineries and hiking or many other activities. The hostess, Jennifer, communicated with us perfectly. This is the best property we have stayed on and can’t wait to go back again.

Amazing property on Elk Lake

Our family was blessed with an awesome vacation full of lasting memories. The hosts have provided everything you could possibly need for a very positive experience, including a volleyball court, a play set, game room, kayaks, fire pit (with wood!) and so much more. We had a large group, complete with lively grandchildren, but the property and home is so spacious that there was plenty of room for everyone. Our plans to go out and eat never materialized because we loved the outdoor eating areas overlooking Elk Lake and the house is well equipped with all of your cooking needs. Thanks so much to the very kind hosts for sharing their property and allowing families to enjoy their piece of Michigan heaven.

Friends and Family Getaway

Perfect lake house for our large group of friends and family with kids ranging from ages 2 to 16. House was stocked with everything one could need or ask for. Close to downtown Elk Rapids or short drive (20 minutes) to Traverse City. House was very spacious and never felt cramped with 22 of us all staying there. Was quiet on the lake and felt secluded at the house. Elk Rapids was 25 minutes via boat and Torch Lake was about an hour boat ride. Jennifer was an amazing host and very easy to work with from booking to check-in to check-out.

Perfect for us!

Our family (10 w/4 kids under 4) really enjoyed our stay at Elk Lake Estate. The house was perfect for our family and exceeded our expectations. The outdoor playset and the sand volleyball court provided hours of fun for the kids while the adults had a great view of the lake. I originally thought we would use more of the amenities (e.g. pool table and game room), but the weather was great and the kids enjoyed their toys outside. The host went out of her way to check that we had everything we needed and was immediately available for any questions. We certainly recommend this property to anyone staying in the area.
