CastleHacket House. Steeped in Irish History, built in 1703 by John Kirwan Mayor of Galway. Surrounded by nature, quiet and peaceful.
10 minutes from the M17 Motorway that will take you directly to Dublin Airport.

We are environmentally friendly and support green living, health and wellbeing.

The Space
Castlehacket Kirwan Room sleeps up to 4 people, with a double bed, 2 x twin beds and private Bathroom. Tea and coffee Facilities in our Dining Room where Breakfast is included.

Cool Place, Great Breakfast, Terrible Communications

This is a lovely property and our ratings would be lower were it not for the incredible breakfast prepared & served by Aiden (not sure of his position relative to the owner, Joyce). Aiden also provided very helpful information about Galway. Unfortunately, the balance of our stay didn’t go well - Joyce didn’t respond for 8 or 9 hours when the heat turned off and we had to wear extra clothes in order to go to sleep. I walked all around the ground floor calling out for help and there was no one there! The WiFi only worked when I sat next to a window in the hall - I would have liked to have known that in advance. No one was there to greet us when we arrived - Joyce said in a text that she had to “pop out” - but she never returned! There were no directions as to which door was the side door & which was the front - so we were unable to find the keys for over an hour. Aiden advised us to text Joyce when we were on the way back from Galway and ask her to turn on the heat for us - really?!?! But she still turned it off just before 11:00 pm. The apartment was very clean and had a nice view of the lovely grounds. The towels were harsh & non-absorbent (hurt my face). She also advised us to avoid taking a bath or shower between 11 pm and 7 am (hard to keep that schedule after driving back at night in the rain from Galway). Joyce also complained that we didn’t lock all 3 doors before leaving in the morning - we had tried, but couldn’t figure them out - there was no one there to advise!

Wonderful Apartment

Stayed in the lower apartment of this wonderful castle house. Our apartment had a great kitchen and the bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. Our host put on a wonderful breakfast and they were very helpful with tips and directions for travel and tourism. Will definitely book here when we come back to the area.

Beautiful house in an amazing setting

From our first greeting until our good-byes, we felt welcomed and cared for by Joyce and Denis. The breakfast was wonderful each morning and the views from the dining room were quant. Our apartment was spacious, clean and fully stocked. It is a quiet, relaxing setting in a renovated, spectacular, impressive house. Recommend you hike the trails on Knockma right outside the property, beware of the fairies and the Little People. We will recommend a stay at CastleHacket to all our friends.

Quiet Country House Setting

We really enjoyed our stay at Castlehacket House, the bedroom/suite we had was very spacious with beautiful views across the open countryside. Our rooms was newly refurbished . The bed was very comfortable. The owners Joyce and Dennis were very welcoming and very accommodating. The breakfast was yummy. We would not hesitate to recommend CastleHackett House. We enjoyed our time exploring the beaches and local golf courses and hope to return in the future.

Amazing stay, you must go here!

Our stay at CastleHackett was an exceptional experience! The room was glorious, the host (Joyce) was welcoming, friendly and informative. The breakfast was fantastic, with coffee, granolas, and a lovely omelette. You must come and see this amazing property to believe it.
