Beautiful, peaceful stay

Our family has been traveling for 3 moths and this has been our favorite stay! Beautiful property that feels tucked away and hidden. The people working the front desk/restaurant/spa are all so warm and welcoming. The grounds are stunning and the food was delicious!

Accueil excellent avec petite boisson rafraîchissante à l'arrivée - un personnel dévoué et très amical - un spa fantastique et un room service très efficace: bravo au chef en cuisine qui nous a régalé tous les soirs avec des spécialités locales fabuleuses! Romantic weekend completely ruined!

My husband and I were hoping to have a romantic weekend in a nice hotel facing the rice paddies and it was a horrible experience! We got a room next to a room where workers were trying to finish the room and making a lot of noise by using tools. We asked the works to be stopped so we can enjoy our holiday and the quietness of the rice paddies, which clearly was disturbed. It is a bit shocking and very frustrating for us to come from the other side of the world and then not be able to rest and relax. They stopped for a little bit and then restarted again. I asked again to stop the works but apparently they had made commitments to finish by a certain date and that was more important than the satisfaction of their customers. I find it unacceptable that they didn't warn us about the construction works at the time we booked or that they continued to work despite our complaints. The staff was clearly annoyed with it but they had received clear instructions from the management and couldn't do anything to amend the situation.

Almost Perfect

Our Villa, #12 at the end of the property was amazing. From daily breakfast in our villa to tea time each afternoon the service was wonderful. We loved the courtyard and pool which were almost completely private, except for a rafting business across the river. The employes are all very friendly and attentive. They assisted us with dinner and spa reservations when needed, and there is a free shuttle into Ubud The property grounds are clean and beautiful. There is one problem that could be addressed. We loved the outdoor shower however the bathroom floor as well as the wood deck by the pool are extremely slippery when wet, and quite dangerous. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay near Ubud. There are many good restaurants and spas nearby as well.

Honeymoon Stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Samkhya Villas for our honeymoon. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the view of the rice paddy field and private pool. The breakfast was tasty and different each day. I highly recommend taking advantage of the spa and getting a massage! We had fun taking the golf cart down the hill and they give you a phone to call when you are ready so its not too much of an annoyance. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Their driver Wayan is nice and knowledgeable about Bali. He showed us around for two days when we were there and we learned so much from him. Overall great stay and we would return!

Lovely cottage hotel far off beaten path

A quaint hotel far away from the busy Ubud center. The design of the hotel is very sweet and lovely. Great for a couple who in on a romantic holiday. The reception staff is fantastic and very helpful. Also so fantastic to have available 24 hours a day. They packed me an early boxed breakfast when I left for a sunrise activity. It's not as great for a solo traveler, though. The peace and quiet comes with a price of being relatively far from the activities of Ubud. The free shuttle is wonderful but it has limited times so you are dependent on taxis to get you back to the hotel. Every taxi driver I engaged didn't know where the hotel was. Even with the address to provide for google maps. You can pay a small fee for a hotel driver to take you to the town center during non-shuttle times which is nice. One reason I booked this hotel was to relax and use the private pool. Even though it was July, it was too cold to use so the pool was just something to look at, not use. I spoke with some other guests and they had the same issue. Be advised that the hotel is set back off of the street so you need to take a very bumpy golf cart ride to/from hotel reception to the street where you then pick up the taxi or the shuttle, and vice versa. They do provide a cell phone pager to call the front desk once you're at the pick up point so they send a cart. That is also avail 24 hours a day. It's not a problem but it does feel a little like you can't just be independent.

Five Stars - best property I have stayed at - the plunge pool was a must - over-looking the rain forest - privacy was great - in room breaky was fantastic - staff perfect - this property is secluded - but management have understood this and you can get a golf cart up to the main drag at any time - plus they run a regular shuttle service into Ubud - the restaurant was great - so this property was perfect and will be the only place I stay at in Ubud - should be more like this.

Had a great time at Samkhya. Exteded our stay and thereby enjoyed two different villas, both very good and also very different in the layout. Can only recommend it. Good massage, good food and great service. The only improvement we would wish for would be wifi, but that we didn't really need as we were more focused on NOT using our phones :-)

Amazing place!

We stayed here for the first couple days of our honeymoon and it was so amazing. The property is tucked away on the back. It is very quiet and relaxing. We loved having our own little private pool and the staff was absolutely amazing. They are so friendly and accommodating. We will stay here again :) one thing to note you can not get to it by car. There is a golf cart that comes up to the street to take you down.

Det var bättre förr.

Detta var andra gången vi bodde här. Förra gången var 2016. Servicen har tyvärr sjunkit på denna tiden. Man missade flera kvällar att göra iordning rummet inför kvällen genom att tända myggspiraler. Man missade flera gånger att plocka bort tallrikar från frukost ,eller afternoon the. Man höll på att bygga ett trädäck sidan om vårt boende så man höll på med elmaskiner och hamra i flera dagar. Och ingen ursäkt eller något för detta.

I liked everything about my stay at Samkhya. I could write an essay about it.. but I would definitely come back and highly recommend it!

Beautiful peaceful villas surrounded by nature

Lovely spot to stay if you want to relax and get away from it all in nature. Villas either overlook a small valley or the rice paddies - either way, you’ll be surrounded by greenery. Every villa has a private pool and day bed for lounging in, and you can have breakfast served in your room or garden if you like. The villas themselves are beautiful with lovely wooden furniture and semi-outdoor bathrooms. The location is great if you want more peace and quiet than central Ubud offers. You can walk into Ubud in 30-40 minutes (lovely stroll through the paddies) or else take the free shuttle. There are also quite a few restaurants nearby if you’d rather stay out of the town. The spa (Temuku Spa) is great. I highly recommend the Stress Reliever package (particularly the Temuku Signature Massage) if you want to work out your knots. Restaurant was nice with views over the paddies. Staff are also lovely - welcoming and helpful. Overall, I love this place! It’s not the cheapest compared to some, but it is really nice and I keep going back when I want to treat myself to a little bit of zen!

Nice little gateway overlooking rice farms.

Amazing location, comfort stay and very good service. Food is good but has some scope of improvement. Bikes are available which are old and helmets are really miserable. They have private tours available which we took, not recommending though. For tours better check tripadvisor.

พนักงานบริการยอดเยี่ยม อยู่ในพื้นที่ ๆ ไม่พลุกพล่านมาก (แต่ด้านหลังติดถนนเล็ก ๆ เลยทำให้มีเสียงมอเตอร์ไซค์) Room service ราคาพอๆ กับที่ ubud city แต่รสชาติดีกว่ามาก ๆ แนะนำให้สั่งกินได้เลย Location อาจจะไกลจากเมืองหน่อย ทำให้ต้องใช้ Free Shuttle ซึ่งมีถึงแค่ 17.00 แล้วขากลับเป็น 22.00 เลย ทำให้ต้องเหมาแท็กซี่กลับ ราคาตั้งแต่ 100,000 RUP (หรือราว ๆ 230 บาท) เลย ข้อเสียอีกข้อ คือ Air ค่อนข้างตัวเล็ก ทำให้ไม่ค่อยเย็น พอเจออากาศร้อน ๆ มาก นี่ไม่เย็นเอาซะเลย แถม ห้องน้ำ ไม่ค่อยส่วนตัว หากไม่ได้ไปกับครอบครัว อาจจะลำบากหน่อย [Air conditioner is too small for the villa, that make the room so hot] [Bathroom doesn't private] ใกล้กับ Rafting ที่ Ayung River ไปไม่ไกล แต่หากต้องการไปที่อื่น ๆ ใน Bali ค่อนข้างไกลเลยทีเดียวเชียว
