If you are looking for a unique wine country retreat stay this hotel is beyond compare. We loved everything about the hotel other than the food, but there are several alternative options for food and a full kitchen to prepare your own meals a well.
We stayed in Brambles/Front Door room and had been blown away by the serene location, spacious room, charming garden around, and 800 years old sequoia on premises. Simply perfect for exploring Anderson Valley and state parks nearby. I wish that heating worked as night were pretty cold, but we managed refreshing mornings.
This is the second time we stayed in the Brambles Back Porch and it is truly amazing. The patio and room have a marvelous view of the redwoods and small meadow.
The Wickson granola and baked goods were delicious and we appreciated having fresh fruit daily. We could move in permanently!

This place is magical. While the main building (with an excellent restaurant) is stately and unique, we stayed at The Brambles in a redwood grove. Being from Santa Cruz, weâre used to redwoods, but these treesâespecially the Pachydermâare amazing. The combination of Steam Punk and farmhouse decor is whimsical and delightful. The Front Door rooms are spacious and lovely. Our only tiny suggestion is that the shower heads are cleaned of hard water build up frequently. The shower flow came down like needles until we scraped some of the deposits off. Other than thatâ6 stars. Weâll be back!
Hotel was nice-- cabins were spacious, but very limited food and beverage and shops . No coffee on premise except in the rooms . It might have been because it was January 1st and limited places are open
Wonderful stay. The room was clean and well supplied with a nice amount of light breakfast foods (fresh fruit, yogurt and a fantastic sweet bread). If only the restaurant was open more since there was limited availability throughout the town for dinner. The garden area was wonderful and a great place to enjoy an early morning coffee.
Very easy check in, got key and map as we were in lodge just up the road
Great inside the ac was quiet but powerful and nice to walk in from 90+
Amenities perfect for couple and although near road you only see woods and traffic noise minimal
Had a wonderful 2 night stay. Only wished that I had booked The Brambles but will save that for next time. Donât forget to check out the restaurant an on site dispensary.
Lovely place in the heart of Anderson Valley. We were there over a holiday, and all our interactions with staff were by text. They said housekeeping and other staff would be returning the day after the holiday, but they never did. Theyâd left enough towels, but we ran out of coffee and didnât have any other housekeeping, which would be fine if weâd had a heads up. But itâs also quite expensive for what ultimately felt like a home rental.
