Sunset Lakeside Escape is a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom cottage located right on beautiful Wilson Lake. You’ll enjoy a private swimming beach and dock—perfect for watching the sunset at the end of the day. If bugs are bothering you, the fully screened-in, furnished front deck offers the same stunning view in comfort. Later in the night you can gaze at the stars from the dock or around the outdoor fire pit- you might even get lucky and catch the Northern Lights.

Feel like a day on the water? We are right next to the public boat launch for Wilson Lake allowing you to easily get your boat in the water and over to your exclusive use private dock. From there you can cruise the 42 kilometers of connected Pickerel River system- as a bonus you may even be able to catch your dinner. The lake is full of walleyes, pikes, and bass - you might even get lucky right off the dock.

Inside the cottage you will find a charming eat-in kitchen that is right beside a cozy living room to relax in. The cottage features two bedrooms—one with a queen-size bed and one with two twins—comfortably sleeping up to four guests, along with a three-piece bathroom. Additional amenities include a TV, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning, offering a cool escape from the afternoon heat (and we won’t judge if the couch turns that movie into a nap).

While you do have use of the kitchen and have a provided BBQ eating out is just as easy. You are within walking distance of the two main restaurants in Port Loring. You are also within walking distance of the LCBO, convenience store and the second-hand store Trash and Treasures.

Here, you’ll enjoy the comforts of home paired with the calm of lakeside living—and sunsets you’ll want to come back for.

Please be advised that there is a set of stone steps leading from the driveway to the well maintained yard. There is also a short walk across the yard to access the cottage and there are stairs to access the cottage. Well these areas are well maintained by their nature they are uneven.

This was the perfect getaway at the perfect little cottage on Wilson lake. From taking in the sunsets while lounging on the wonderful screened in porch, to fishing, boating, or swimming from your private dock, it was exactly what we had hoped the week would be and then some! The property is extremely well looked after and the cottage privacy, comfort, and tranquil space exceeded expectations. We had room for both the truck and boat trailer in the driveway. Our host was terrific and went well out of her way to make sure our stay was relaxing and that we had everything we needed. Port Loring adds to the charm as the people are very friendly and the unique character of the town slowed down time for us. Looking forward to coming back!

This sweet, immaculately clean cottage is ideally located on a quiet part of Lake Wilson (Wauquimakog). The large, screened-in porch was one of our favourite places to sit, read, and look and listen to the lake, while the dock was perfect for late-night star gazing. If you're planning on cooking, the kitchen has all of the appliances and equipment needed to prepare meals and bake. Just make sure to bring all of your groceries as there aren't many places in the area to buy groceries. The bedrooms and living room were comfortable. It was a bit warm, even with the ceiling fans and portable AC unit running. However, there is a constant, cool breeze from the lake, so sleeping with the screened windows open made it just cool enough for comfort. The wifi works but requires patience and is sometimes spotty. We especially enjoyed the propane BBQ and picnic table! Of note, there are 12 uneven stone steps to walk down from the driveway onto the well-manicured lawn, followed by a short walk (approx. 20 meters) and another 6 steps up to get into the cottage. Though Port Loring is a small village, there are a few restaurants and thrift stores in walking distance from the cottage, as well as many lakes, trails, parks, and other attractions to explore within a 1-hour drive. For people looking for a private and peaceful place to relax, swim, hike, boat and/or fish, this really is an excellent choice!
