Whitecap Mountain Ski Resort

Stayed at this rural ski lodge at off season to look for fall colors. Bed was comfortable, room was large. Hot tub was not very hot. There is no breakfast except on weekends for a charge (Friday morning). There was not a nearby town with breakfast that we knew of. The tv was streaming so you had to pay to view the Brewers playoff game. There is a $25 resort fee during non ski season. Very noisy (4 wheeler rally group stayed there). There were no tissues (have seasonal allergies) so that was inconvenient. Attendant staff was friendly (tried to find Brewer game for free…no luck). Expensive for off season. Would definitely not recommend.

It was very disappointing to find out we couldn't use the pool/hot tub when we arrived because it was rented out. I assume that we have "rented" the pool as customers of the hotel. The toilet ran all night and there was sand or dirt on the bedspread. Nothing overly terrible, but difficult to leave a great review.

The property is a unique alpine experience with a real waterfall on the property. The staff is always more than helpful and there is every conceivable need covered. We make sure to come back here year after year.

This was our first time staying here. We will be back! The resort had a lot of opportunities to do things. We really enjoyed the evening campfire. The resort was clean. We appreciated the bar / restaurant. Above all, the staff that worked there, very nice and professional!

This snow-ski property is quiet and beautiful in the summer. However, there’s a lot of unmet opportunity to make the green space and beautiful lake view an added amenity for Guests. I just wanted to be outside so although there were picnic tables, some nice chairs or loungers and some landscaping would do wonders to enhance their property. Lots of cigarette butts outside the 2 front entrances; that’s always a shame to see. And it’s gross. We didn’t notice any canisters for butts. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub, but several people seemed to be enjoying both. There was no food option on site as the restaurant was closed. Town was about 20 minutes away, so plan accordingly if you need snacks/food. Overall, we enjoyed this stay for a quiet and affordable portion of our northern WI trip.
Exit the back of the lodge and go down the hill to this beautiful lake and county park.

The room was smaller than expected, room was dark (the day, desk pern rounded up an extra light) TV reception not so good, WIFI was spotty. The food was good when available, Denali made a cheese pizza (her first try!) for us when getting back to the hotel late. She was great, give her a raise! There were some shortcomings, but we would stay there again, hope to be back that way in a couple years. 🙂
