Stay away!

We stayed at this hotel two days ago. I don't know who previously wrote these glowing reviews, but they aren't merited. The location of this hotel is good. But, that' s as far as it goes. The beds were uncomfortable. The breakfast was terrible. Even the server urged us to complain because the management had stopped offering fruit or anything healthy to save money. The biggest ripoff was the parking at $27/night. We were told we could park on the street, but the neighborhood is dangerous.

Good hotel in Vancouver

Location: There was a 24 hour bakery within two blocks, as well as small market places to pickup small items and snacks. Several restaurants are near by.
The hotel is on the edge of the Central Vancouver downtown, so you have get transportation to the downtown. The hotel does not have a full restaurant, but only for the breakfast buffet, which is good-- scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and waffles. The rooms are roomy enough and have a gourmet coffee and maker, which is really great in the mornings. There is an in-room safe. The only Con I have with the room is that it doesn't have enough good lightning. There was some construction going on around the hotel, but this was not a problem at night and we were gone during the day.

Very nice hotel; great location

This hotel was centrally located to restaurants, the water taxi, and several neighborhoods. The staff was very friendly, and the room was modern and clean.

Great place to stay

Pros: The location was great, five minutes down Howe to the aqua bus so we could hop over to Granville Island. The free bikes and good breakfast was a bonus
Cons: Key cards for the elevator can be annoying to find and use. Mine lost its magnet and had to be recharged, but the card is for security reasons I guess
Location: 10 Minutes to Granville Island,and you can walk the seawall to English Bay and Stanley Park, safe area with lots of food selections, a great view
We have been to Vancouver a few times, but we stayed at another hotel which was not available. The Executive had good reviews which is why I chose to stay here. The check in was quick and easy and we were placed on the 7th floor with a view of the city. I was very happy with the large room, mini fridge, flat screen wall mounted tv, and even the bathroom was a good size. The bed was a king and the only thing I can say about it is it was a little too hard for us, but we normally sleep on a softer bed.The room was alway clean, coffee was replenished daily, and bed made. We had breakfast three times at the hotel which we normally never do. It was buffet with a great selection of breakfast foods for a good price. The food was always replenished and excellent. The staff was good, some were very helpful/friendly like the bellman who assisted us with our bikes one morning. Oh and they have bikes you can borrow for free for the day which was great because we saw so much of the city in such a short time. Other staff members seemed to have little info about how to get somewhere or what bus we could take.

Not worth the money

Pros: Nice linens and towels
Cons: Dirty overall, broken equipment, extremely loud AC
Location: Aqua bus to Granville Island is close by, but I wouldn't walk there after dark
This was our third hotel on a week-long trip to Canada, and the most expensive, and the biggest disappointment. The hotel is just worn looking; they've put a thin veneer of new things over a tired old hotel. The fact that you need your room card to enter the garage, the hotel, the elevator, make me think it's in a pretty dangerous neighborhood (also, the many warning signs in the garage about thieves was a clue.) The bathtub in our 8th floor room used to be a jacuzzi but they put plugs on the jets so you had to stand on them. There was a very old, yellowed, rubber mat you could put over them as well. The shower water did not get very hot, and about 1/3 of it came out the tub faucet because the diverter didn't work. The AC did work, but it was extremely loud. However, that helped drown out the noise from the treadmill that was apparently right on top of our room in the 9th floor fitness center; we heard every move the joggers up there made, from late at night til early in the morning. The bed was fairly comfortable, and the linens and towels were nice enough, and clean. The first of our two nights there I tried to get ice from the machine conveniently located right on our floor. Oops- it was old and broken, and looked like it had been broken for a long time. When we checked out the young woman asked how our stay was. We said, eh. It was ok. Apparently she's used to the lack of enthusiasm because she didn't ask if anything was wrong or could have been done to improve things.

Close to pier

Pros: Location was great
Cons: Air conditioning and hot tub. Somewhat cumbersome to get to floors above nine
Location: Close to grand vile island many nice restaurants in walking distance to hotel
Hotel was nice however very noisy from street traffic. Air conditioning was poor and hot tub only had one functional jet.

Great all around trip

This hotel was not only a comfortable stay but also in a great location. It was walking distance to the beach, Granville Island, Granville street, the famous Davie Street and great food (the Warehouse and The Fish Shack)!
