Perfect for a get-away!

Pros: It's on Granville Island! Come, park and walk. Rooms are compact, comfortable and CLEAN.
Cons: Can't think of anything I'd change.
Location: Granville Island is a Mecca of the best of BC fine crafts. The huge Public market is legendary for the freshest produce and marvelous baked goods. YUM
For friends who love art, high end crafts and good food, Granville Island was the ideal destination for a 2 day get-away. And staying in a lovely hotel, walking distance to everything on the Island made the vacation perfect. Next time we're coming for 3 days!

Should have done my research better

Pros: Nice hotel geared for well to do tourists, especially if you have destinations on Granville Island to get to. Not so convenient if not.
Cons: There was no pool or spa which I found surprising given the price, but then again it is an older facility on a small island where land is not cheap.
Location: It's on Granville Island so if you plan to do anything there it would be very convenient. But it is not close to the downtown core or Stanley Park.
I booked here seeing it looked close on the map view to the finish line of the RSVP Seattle to Vancouver bicycling event, but didn't realize it is on a secluded very touristy island with no easy access from the part of the city I was trying to get there from (English Bay area). I had planned to use Car2Go to get around the city but once there I realized that there were not going to be any Car2Go vehicles conveniently sitting around Granville Island, so I ended up doing a lot of walking, eight miles each way (I refused to use a cab or bus after cycling 185 miles to get there from Seattle). I'll know better next time and stay closer to English Bay.

Lovely Hotel with Waterfront Views

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Can't think of anything. They've got it right . All staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful.
Location: This is a great location. We chose the hotel because of the location, but now I would go back because of the hotel.
We very much enjoyed our three night stay at the Granville Hotel. Our room was pretty, modern and comfy. The Dockside Restaurant offered delicious food, and we ate there on four occasions. There was a nice health club with sauna and jacuzzi. There was a business center with computers and printers. The view of the waterfront was beautiful, and you could dine on the outside patio. It was quiet and peaceful there but close to other shops and restaurants on Granville Island. Downtown Vancouver was easily accessible by water taxi, bus or walking. I would love to stay there again.

Granville Island Hotel is #1

Super location, friendly & helpful staff, great room. Very clean and welcoming. Excellent value... parking was the only issue, but the front desk solved that problem. Stayed at the Pan Pacific 2 nights later and except for the glitz, the comfort of the room and the view were comparable. ""I'll be back."" ..... ps - there's a little bakery on the opposite side of the island. Go get your just baked morning rolls and pastries then stop in at the Market for some fruits and meats and you're set for breakfast, and lunch, too if you want.

Granville, We LOVE you!

We stayed two nights at the hotel and had a fabulous time exploring Granville Island. This is the only hotel located on the island. So much to see and do. There are great shops and galleries The Public Market rivals Pike Place. The three course dinner at ""The Cat's Meow"" was great. The staff here was very helpful and friendly and our standard room clean and comfortable. I plan to go back soon with a group of gal pals!

disaster in vancouver

booked travel package, received miniscule and outdated room in rear overlooking dumpster. Very shabby, staff worse. Bar and restaurant closed for outside parties for entire stay--room service tookhours, gave up and braved 30 degree cold to walk to eat. Travelers beware!

family mid week adventure

My Daughter, Grandaughter and I (three women) stayed two nights this week. We loved the location. It was close to buses and taxis came in a flash. The hotel was quiet and the views stupendous. We would come back.

BEST Vancouver experience! The hotel is minutes to everything, without being surrounded by high rise hotels. Public Market steps from the hotel, great bars, shops and restuarants. We were upgraded to a suite with amazing water and city views. We did not want to leave. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Hotel is very small and has a boutique feeling. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. Can't wait to go back!!!
