Great location !!!

Pros: Close restaurants
I have stayed at the sandman a few times and it's always satisfied me. I go to Canucks,lions,UFC ect events and the hotel is a perfect location for events being right beside all the stadiums. There's great restaurants attached and the price seems to be better then the rest of the hotels

The Stairmaster

Cons: poor wifi, elevators slow if they work at all
Well all I can say is that I will not be staying at this Hotel ever again. I checked in with my wife, three young daughters and my mother-in-law on Sunday the 21st of August, 2011 and after we parked the van in the parkade we proceeded up the elevator to the lobby, this is where you have to switch to one of the other elevators that take you up to your floor. Well only one of the 2 were in service and a tour bus loaded with people had already checked in. There was a line up of people already waiting for the one operational elevator. As I was standing there with my family, finally next in line for the struggling elevator the bellman approached the elevator and announced that he had to get the luggage from the tour bus up to each of the floors. There were at least 20 full size suitcases in a row down the hallway that he alone began loading into the only elevator while my young daughters held their small pink suitcases at their sides. I could see that this fellow was having a tough time so I began helping him get the suitcases into the elevator. Soon after another man joined in as he was also becoming inpatient with the slow progress of the bellman. Once the elevator was full to the ceiling the bellman stepped in and the doors closed. We stood there now with a long line forming down the hallway wondering if we would ever see those doors open again. 15 minutes later it did come back and we squeezed as many of us in that elevator as we could. It proceeded up towards our 7th floor destination and passed right by it, even though we had repeatedly pushed our number. we were met on the 9th floor by a very frustrated woman that insisted on wedging herself in with us for she had also been waiting for 15 minutes. She had been staying in the Hotel for 2 nights and finally got so upset with the one intermittent elevator that she demanded to be moved to another room in the other tower that had a different elevator system. We did make it to our room and stayed 2 nights. What time we didn't spend waiting for the elevator we were walking up and down the 7 flights of stairs along with many other frustrated guests. We booked the room 2 weeks in advance and we had requested a refrigerator, well when we got to our room, no fridge. Manager said no more fridges. WiFi was virtually unusable. They only had 2 bath towels in each room, we had 3 people in each of our rooms. Had to call desk. Next day after maid service, 2 towels again. By far my worst Hotel experience...Shame on you Sandman!!

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel. It is the perfect location for concert goers. Unfortunately it gets too full and takes 30 minutes for an elevator. And the halls and stairs were honestly 90-100° which was unbearable. Great room, love the bars and restaurants downstairs, convenient parking garage, friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone.

Hotel is very convenient in downtown Vancouver, it is right next-door to BC Place. Price was great service great hotel for story.

Very close to everything

Pros: Very close to everything. Very updated and roomy. Good food and bar options. Great WiFi.
Cons: We found articles from the previous tenants around the room so I wonder how good they're cleaning. Staff friendliness. Maybe working on the parking.
Location: GREAT location. Rodgers arena next door, endless bars and restaurants within 5-10 minute walks. Nice part of town
I chose this hotel because its literally a 3 minute walk to the entrance to Rodgers arena. The bars were really nice (obviously after the weeknd concert they were all super full and hard to get into). I paid for parking with the hotel and still ended up getting a parking ticket, so when I told the front desk they said they would take care of it. Also our check out time wasn't until 12 (though everything else said 11, the desk said 12) but the cleaning lady came into our room at 10:30 when we were still sleeping. I called the desk about it and they were like oh well you just have to leave by 12. Also, good luck getting a call through to front desk, my phone rang for about 20 minutes before anyone answered.

Nice hotel in the heart of Vancouver

Pros: Excellent customer service! I did not catch his name, but the blonde gentleman working at the desk with us went above and beyond regarding a lost item
Only stayed one night after a flight up from the States because we had a four-hour drive to Interior BC for a wedding the next morning. Check in was quick and efficient, and early enough that we were able to enjoy some of the sights, restaurants, and pubs within walking distance before turning in for the night. The bed was very comfortable, and the room itself clean and very well appointed. Unfortunately, when we checked out the next morning, my husband inadvertently left his suit hanging in the room closet - a suit that was needed for the wedding! The cleaning staff noticed almost immediately and brought it down to the lobby to try and catch us, but we had already left - the blond gentleman (sorry, but I didn't catch your name) working the desk even tried to call us, but our US based cellphones weren't receiving the calls. GREAT SERVICE! By the time my husband noticed the missing suit, we were already in Keremos at about 7PM on Friday evening! Too late to FedEx overnight in time! Panic! Thankfully, he was able to call the hotel and asked for it to be put in lost and found for retrieval on Monday. During the whole telephone exchange, the staff at Sandman were very helpful and courteous, and remembered us by name when we arrived Monday morning to pick it up.

Solid downtown hotel

Pros: Location, cleanliness, service
Cons: Parking should be incorporated in the billing not an addition so you know your entire billing up front
Location: Short walking distance to Canucks stadium, many restaurants and stores, within easy striking distance of Stanley Park and Vancouver Aquarium
Nice, clean rooms, typical amenities, good service, good central downtown location - garage parking is tight and adds to your bill (typical in Vancouver hotels)

This is the second time I stayed in this hotel. This hotel made me feel welcome

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
The policy check in is 4pm; however, I arrived hotel at 8am, however, the staff let me check in right away so i can rest after a red flight. This hotel is so convenience, I can walk to china town, gas town...The staff is so nice.
