I really wanted to like this place way more than I actually did. We received a confirmation email the day before we were to arrive, but when we arrived, they had no space for us. They were apologetic, but it still left us in a huge bind late at night in the rain. We found another spot to stay for the night and returned the next day. They gave us a free dinner in exchange for the inconvenience. The space is lovely. The cabins are cozy. Everything is spotless. My main frustration is that they are not honest in their pricing. There are two different "menus." One for Costa Rican visitors and one for everyone else. I was charged $40 more for a massage. When I questioned it and pointed it out on the price list, there was considerable disagreement among the staff, which was awkward but still resulted in my paying more. The staff encouraged us to dine using the standard, typical "buffet" meal, indicating that it would be easier and less expensive after we reviewed the menu. The "buffet" price was not listed on the menu. When we went to pay, the server needed to check the price. When she returned, we were shocked at how exorbitant it was. We questioned whether it was correct. She apologized and said yes. Even though the space was lovely, we left feeling like we had been taken advantage of and disrespected.
