Known throughout the world as the city built on water, given its construction on 100 islands in the lagoon, Venice is one of Italy's most popular locations worldwide.
It is a real open-air museum, thanks to its historical and artistic heritage made of churches, palaces, and museums.
Strolling through Venice is like diving in the past: the so-called calli (streets) are dotted and framed by aristocratic buildings such as the Doge's Palace, the historic home of the Doges, spectacular bridges including the famous Rio Alto Bridge, and canals navigable by gondolas, waterbuses, and boats of all kinds.
The heart of the city is the enchanting St. Mark's Square, which houses the Basilica of the same name and welcomes thousands of tourists from all over the world every day.
The most famous local event is definitely the Carnival, thanks to its centuries-old tradition of masks and costumes that enliven the streets every year.
Last but not least, the famous "BĂ caro Tour" is a must: a tour among taverns where to taste local wine along with cicheti, typical Venetian tasty bites.
The accommodation is a 12-minute walk from Venice Santa Lucia Station and 13 km from Venice Marco Polo Airport.
On certain dates of the year, visitors must pay an access fee of EUR 5-10 per person per day to enter Venice. Those with accommodation in Venice are exempt from paying this. Guests must however request an exemption voucher in advance and present it with an identity document on arrival. To check affected dates, fees and request an exemption, visit cda.ve.it/en/.

The location is amazing, however please note it is on the third floor, with a LOT of stairs, so if you have a lot of luggage good luck. Also, the only area with AC is the living area, none of the rooms so we were sweating while sleeping. The room itself was fine, the communication with the property manager was stellar, just not what we were expecting at all. Just be aware. Also, as an American, we did not understand it was just a washing machine, not a washer and dryer combined. Just food for thought, not a bad place to stay over all though. The location was perfect.
Excellent location, really feel like a local but within walking of all the interesting points. Good apartment, just as described although you do have to lug bags up several flights of quite a steep staircase. Not a problem for us but could imagine some people may e having some problems.
