LandstraĂe is the 3rd municipal District of Vienna. The name LandstraĂe means `country road`. To the tourists, it is mostly known for the 18th-century castle and gardens of Belvedere, the residence of Eugene of Savoy, which today houses the Austrian Gallery. Another residence was built by the Russian envoy to Vienna, Count Razumovsky. A more recent point of interest is the Hundertwasserhaus apartment block designed in a dream-like style by the architect and painter Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Museums in LandstraĂe include the Kunst Haus Wien and the Museum of Art Fakes. Our guests will find a range of restaurants, cafes and bars all around the apartment. Our nearby favourites include Pizzeria Santa Lucia just across the street from the apartment and Restaurant zur steirischen Botschaft (traditional Austrian restaurant) both offering delicious meals at any time of the day and great outdoor seating possibilities in the warm summer months. For a fancy dinner or brunch experience, cross the Danube Canal and board the Motto am Fluss â a restaurant on a boat right on the Danube Canal. For traditional Austrian dishes, head on over to the famous Schweizerhaus near the Prater amusement park â a large beer garden, well-known for its excellent Stelze (knuckle of pork). A perfect sunset is best experienced with a glass of wine from the Loft Bar & Lounge on the uppermost floor of the Sofitel Hotel on the Danube Canal.
The apartment is located in Salesianergasse, only 5 minutes walking distance from the magnificent Belvedere Palace and 6 minutes walking distance from Vienna Concert House. The apartment is strategically located between two metro stations, Stadtpark (line U4), Karlsplatz (lines U4, U2 and U1) and Wien Renweg train station (S-bahn). The unit was as described and per pictures. It was clean and well stocked with dishes, blankets, pillows, etc. The internet worked well. Our HUGE problem was that we were REPEATEDLY locked out of the building at the street level. The intercom system to buzz into the building was broken and the host, the host's management company Arbio, and VRBO did NOTHING to help us. This was a building wide issue as others had the same problem as we did. We came back one evening and stood in the rain trying to get in. I called the Emergency number with the listing and was told they would check into it and call me back. THEY NEVER CALLED BACK. We basically had to stand around hoping someone else would come out of the building to let us in. With only 8 units in the building this can take awhile. We had to completely cancel our plans on the last night because we had a morning train and couldn't afford to be locked out all night without our luggage. I spent several hours communicating with the VRBO support and they did nothing for us because we were no longer standing in the rain. I filed a formal complaint and then VRBO sent 4 emails saying they needed more info about the problem and I had to respond immediately but they didn't say what info they needed. I responded to each email asking what else they needed and VRBO never responded to my emails. THIS PLACE WAS A NIGHTMARE AND VRBO, ARBIO AND THE OWNER DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Schönes Appartement in ruhigem Viertel. Alles was man braucht fĂŒr einen Kurzaufenthalt ist vorhanden. FusslĂ€ufig zum Belvedere und botanischem Garten. Strassen-/U-bahn in der NĂ€he. (7min). Check-in kompliziert, da das elektronisches Schloss auch nach vielfachen Versuchen nicht einwandfrei funktioniert.
Die Wohnung liegt wirklich sehr schön im 3. Bezirk (LandstraĂe), eine Trambahnhaltestelle befindet sich in ca. 150 m Entfernung. Die Wohnung ist sehr ruhig und groĂzĂŒgig geschnitten, die Ausstattung beinhaltet alles, was man braucht.Folgende Dinge sollten aber im Auge behalten werden:- Das Bad könnte ein "Update" vertragen (Ablauf im Waschbecken teilweise verstopft, Duschabtrennung wackelig und stark verkalkt)- Manche AusstattungsgegenstĂ€nde waren defekt oder teilweise ohne Funktion (kaputter Regenschirm, TV die meiste Zeit nicht nutzbar aufgrund von "KonnektivitĂ€tsfehler", Toilettenpapierhalter im Bad locker, Handtuchheizung schlecht befestigt)- Der elektronische TĂŒröffnungsprozess ist teilweise ein GlĂŒcksspiel...Als sehr gut empfanden wir:- die Ausstattung der KĂŒche (Nespressomaschine, Mikrowelle, groĂer KĂŒhlschrank, viel Geschirr)- das "Backup" mittels klassischer HaustĂŒrschlĂŒssel- die generelle Ruhe im Haus- trotz hoher AuĂentemperaturen angenehm kĂŒhl- QualitĂ€t der Betten- Die Problemlösungskompetenz der Buchungsagentur sowie die wirklich schnellen Antworten bei AnfragenFazit: Gerne kommen wir wieder, aber die angesprochenen MĂ€ngel sollten beim aufgerufenen Ăbernachtungspreis schon beseitigt werden.
Insgesamt war der Aufenthalt gut. Nach vorheriger RĂŒcksprache war es sogar möglich von 15 Uhr die Wohnung zu beziehen. Die Wohnung ist im 3. OG; Fahrstuhl vorhanden. Ăffis in unmittelbarer NĂ€he. Leicht verwundert / verunsichert hat mich nur, dass Kommunikationssprache mit dem Vermieter Englisch ist. war. FĂŒr Deutsch wurde anscheinend
