We had an absolutely incredible stay at the Island House! The home was so comfortable, clean, quiet (no roosters!) and incredibly well stocked with everything we needed. The location is perfect - close to both towns, as well as the beaches. Having a beautiful, ocean view and a pool was the icing on the cake! Thank you for a lovely visit!

Spent one week in mid-Jan. Quiet and private with nice views of the bio-bay area during the day and stargazing at night. Central location for Esperanza beaches as well as North Side beaches. Driveway very steep but got the hang of it.

The whole experience couldn’t have been easier or smoother. Communication was great. The house was comfortable, the pool was very nice. The only thing that was missing was a shade umbrella for lounging by the pool.

Delightful setting

This house is very well equipped and comfortable. The aesthetic of the pool and deck area are especially nice. Pool was great for morning and evening swims.We enjoyed opening the double doors to the lovely tropical air and sitting on the front poch most mornings.(never needed the AC.) The location is not really that walkable to anything but being high on a dead end road provided security and was very peaceful. Loved the warm water and stunning beaches. We had a wonderful week on Vieq u es.

Absolute peace!

If you want busy and loud go elsewhere. I traveled here as a retreat with my partner- and all we wished for was more time here. This place is for people like us, who work hard and look for peace. What an oasis! The place is well equipped. The pictures don’t do it justice. The hospitality of the host and manager were unparalleled. We will be back! Highly recommended.

Secluded getaway

Vieques Puerto Rico is a destination island of its own, but we found this house to be a bonus that topped it all off. This home is secluded, quiet, and has all the comforts of home. When you arrive the driveway is quite STEEP, so the rental of a Jeep, or SUV is highly recommended. When you turn the corner to park beside the house, you are suddenly in a private courtyard overlooking the southern coast, excited to begin your getaway. We were greeted by the housekeeper, who maintains the property. He showed us around, gave us the keys, and left us for our vacation. This house has a wall AC unit in the main space, which we did not use. There is a mini-split AC unit in the bedroom where we kept the door closed and maintained only one area at a desirable temperature. We found ourselves out exploring most of the day and would come back to the house late afternoon to cool off in the pool, and in the wonderful shade of the surrounding trees until dinner, where we would go visit the local restaurants. The house has everything you need to go to the local grocery and cook on the stove, or outdoor BBQ
 but we wanted to taste the island, so we only used the kitchen sparingly. The bathroom was updated not too long ago and has a great feel. There is also a private outdoor shower that was convenient for when we came back from the beach, or in & out of the pool. If I had any “downfalls” of this location, it would be personal preferences that may not be a concern for others. The bed felt good

A jewel beyond compare

We arrived tired and road weary. We emerged refreshed and renewed. The pool is amazing and so private. I would highly recommend this heavenly retreat for a couple (in our case) or for anyone in need of renewal.

Your private oasis awaits....but don't froget your 4WD rental vehicle....

Let start by pictures really don't do the view you have justice. This property is at the top of a good size hill and over the wall of the porch is your stunning view of the nature preserve (vast area) with an ocean view in the distance. Since being on the edge of this area its quiet but you will hear plenty of birds (the peacocks are very frequent), frogs and occasionally see horses on the road. Few houses line the driveway up the hill but its still very private. You will definitely need a 4wd vehicle to make it up the driveway especially if it rains but once at the top, its all flat walking area. They definitely have though of everything too to make your stay very comfortable too. Fully stocked kitchen, beach chairs, coolers and accessories, washer/dryer, extra blankets, sunscreen assortment, toiletries, hair dryer etc. Its a very long list. We stayed 10 magicial days and loved every minute. If you are looking for a very adventurous and unforgettable trip, you found it. Book the house, book the 4WD vehicle and be prepared for true paradise adventure exploring pristine, remote beaches, rainforest areas, bioluminescent bay tours (brightest in the world for a reason), beach horseback rides and fantastic food. We can't wait to go back.

10th Time on Vieques

Jeanne and I loved the Island House. The location was perfect, close to everything on Vieques with a very private and quiet location. Everything about the place was as the listing stated one of our best trips to Vieques. The pool was great with plenty of outdoor seating and an outdoor shower for when you return from the beaches. From booking to check in to check out was very easy, plus the communications from Lisa and Aurelio were outstanding and very helpful! Everything was Perfect! Brad C

This is a dream vacation house. It is spacious and well appointed. We didn't cook much, but we certainly could have. The pool is dreamy. Lisa and Aurelio communicated really well and everything was very easy. It's a small island so everything, including endless sublime beaches, is close. Unbelievably great spot.

Really lovely stay

We really enjoyed our week spent here. It’s nicely located in a residential neighborhood with nice views to the south from the deck near the pool. It’s pretty central, so convenient for getting to either side of the island. We rented a Jeep and were glad for it- the driveway is pretty steep, but there is plenty of space at the top to park and even turn around. It was the perfect size for two people, though I think it would definitely be tight quarters with more than that. The pool was great to have, and very refreshing. It’s in the shade during the afternoon, which is actually a nice break from the sun if you’ve been at the beach all day. We really appreciated the beach chairs and cooler (there was a larger hard sided one and a soft sided zip cooler that was a bit more practical). We didn’t do a lot of cooking, but did use it for breakfasts and a night in when we had a lot of leftovers. Kitchen was well stocked, we definitely could have used it more! Aurelio the property manager is great, very helpful and responsive if you have any questions. I’d happily stay here again!

Remarkable!

As advertised. Terrific view, clean, private, comfortable home with everything you need. Love the donation jar for your loose change in the kitchen to support Vieques Humane Society. But the pool- come on! It’s perfect! We left behind some extra pool/ocean floats for next guests to enjoy, but there are several more in the outside storage bin. Aurelio, the property manager, is great. The sky at night is dark and great for star gazing from the deck or pool. Lots of shooting stars. Well-equipped kitchen- everything you need, as well as gas and charcoal grills. Wish we stayed longer- 4 nights is not enough. Enjoy this gem!

Terrific property, terrific stay

I highly, highly recommend this property. My wife and I spent 7 days here for our honeymoon. Aurelio was very easy to work with. We had our flight delayed long enough to put our flight from San Juan to Vieques off a day. Aurelio worked with us and we were very easily able to check in. The property looks very similar to the picture. The only difference is that the colors are more vibrant, if anything. The interior is cozy yet has enough room, and it's very, very convenient to have laundry appliances on site. We didn't do much with the kitchen except store leftovers from the fantastic restaurants on Vieques, and make daiquiris in the blender. The bedroom is very comfortable and so is the bed. Roomy shower and a well-laid-out bathroom. The porch is extensive. The view is phenomenal. You can clearly see 2 bays, including the bioluminescent bay. The pool was a very nice size and was a great relief to swim around in during the hotter times. The property is very private. The pool isn't visible from the other properties - the retaining wall is huge and the pool is on the opposite side of the house from the other houses in the cul-de-sac. Private and very peaceful. The location is excellent. Both Isabel Segundo and Esperanza have different things to offer, and they're about equally close to the house. We were able to drive all the way to the west end of the island in about 20 minutes from the property. I would buy it if I could!!

I took a lot of time researching different properties before making a reservation. The reviews for this property are positively accurate. Lisa was wonderful to deal with and Aurelio couldn't have been more hepful! The property was clean and welcoming. The pool is even more beautiful in person! Gorgeous views from the porch, including the occasional peacock strolling by. I loved the location, the layout and the views this property offers. I will most definitely return for another stay.

Go, it’s great. You’re on top of the world and nothing is too far away (if you are brave about driving narrow, twisty roads at night). There’s literally nothing to complain about. I even like that there are plenty of hooks, drawers and hangers so you can organize your stuff. Things you need for the beach are at the ready. Go on a snorkel tour with Sarah from Crystal Clear.

Amazing stargazing

Property had everything you could wish for - comfortable, clean, good assortment of spices, etc, a pool, view of the Caribbean and the stars visible at night were amazing.

Paradise

Our stay in Vieques was magical. From the sunny days to the horses that visited us on the porch and the endless views of the Caribbean. Our property was close to the beaches and the perfect place to relax. There is a school next door but other than drop off we never heard from the students. The outdoor shower was amazing!!! We will definitely visit again next year ☀

Almost the perfect stay!

Incredible views, and the pool is lovely and much larger than it appears in photos. Inside is exactly as pictured with a well stocked kitchen. Comfortable bed. Super quiet neighborhood
 except when the neighbor is building a garage, which was weekdays starting at 7 am. Intermittent construction noise—scraping or power tools. We didn’t have the right to complain because hey it’s a neighborhood and because they usually stopped by 1 pm, but it kind of catches you off guard. Afternoons and evenings were silent, and star watching is awesome. Also gorgeous welcome snacks were in the fridge when we arrived. Thanks so much.

Beautiful secluded place

Had an amazing time. Bed wasn't very comfortable, but otherwise it is an amazing place. Be sure to check out the bio bay!!
