The market in Violès, which is well worth a visit, is located on the Cours Rigot and takes place regularly on Wednesdays. You can usually shop from 8 am. Violès is located on the Côtes-du-Rhône wine route, dotted with marvellous mountain villages and restaurants. Nearby is Séguret, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in France. Gigondas and Vacqueyras are renowned for the richness of their vineyards. Sablet offers marvellous, shady and flowery alleys. You can also discover Avignon, whose centre is surrounded by a perfectly preserved fortress, and stroll through Orange with its triumphal arch at the gates of the city and an amphitheatre that provides a fitting setting for the Les Chorégies opera festival every summer. Children will find entertainment in the many surrounding theme parks, the Crocodile Farm, Wave Island, the Visiatome or the Parc Spirou. For the more active, the hiking trails at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Mont Ventoux and the Luberon, which are just a stone's throw away, are a real highlight. Or opt for mountain biking and horse riding.
