Blue Heaven - A Dog Friendly North End Beach Cottage - Private Walk to Beach!

The BLUE HEAVEN BEACH COTTAGE is located on Ocean Front Ave making it easy to take a cup of coffee to watch the early morning sunrise or to run back to the house for lunch and a nap after playing on the beach! Grab a cocktail, walk over the dune and catch the fireworks from the Oceanfront....and the dolphin watching is GREAT at this location of the beach. In the colder months, the fireplace has an electric heat insert to keep it cozy.
Come and listen to the waves crash against the shore, smell the salty ocean spray, enjoy the oversized outside deck, and reminisce about the fun you had all day catching waves, body surfing, sunbathing and playing games!
Off-street parking, total of 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (2 Queen Bedrooms; and a 2- bedroom suite featuring double with twin above bunk in 1 room and double with trundle in the 2nd room). Renovated six years ago with all NEW electrical and plumbing systems, NEW HVAC, NEW flooring, NEW deck, NEW recessed lighting, NEW kitchen cabinets and appliances, NEW beautiful tiled bathrooms, NEW outdoor shower, and NEW furniture and bedding. Eat-in kitchen with high top table seats 6. Lovely large deck has plenty of room for entertaining with seating area and dining table for six for family outdoor dinners and an outdoor grill. After a day at the beach, rinse off with our enclosed outdoor shower. Well stocked kitchen with newish appliances... but if you don't feel like cooking, restaurants galore are within a 5 minute drive (ask the owner/host for restaurant recommendations). Plenty of local attraction brochures inside our cottage. Convenient to Naval Bases if you are affiliated with military and located just outside of Ft Story (and the Cape Story Lighthouse). There are no busy streets or traffic here to concern yourself with, as this beach cottage is on the ocean side of Atlantic Ave on Ocean Front Ave at 85th Street, and only 1 house separates you from the dune to the beach. Enjoy the private walkway to the beach through the dunes or from the street via city boardwalk access. This great north-end location offers a quiet and quaint atmosphere, with the National Anthem playing at 8 am every day from Ft Story!
Within a short drive you will find Virginia Marine Science Museum, dining, movie theater, shopping, library, Rec Center, zoo, botanical garden, fishing, water park, go-carts, boardwalk, and the list goes on!! Like to hike or run? First Landing State Park trails are just a few minute's walk away! Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Water Country USA and Busch Gardens are just a 45 minute drive.

Even better than I imagined

Beautiful, immaculate home! Perfectly appointed and suited for Grandma and Grandpa downstairs, parents and kids upstairs, and for our beloved pup. The hosts are warm, gracious, and generous, and have thought of everything you might need. Truly a perfect spot for our North End vacation. We loved the upstairs deck too. The outdoor shower with hot/cold and hose for feet and beach toys/chairs is the cherry on top. We hope to return!

North VA Beach Rental

We had a great time at this rental. Every thing was provided for fun beach time to include towels, toys & beach chairs. It was super easy to access the beach. This VRBO was well-equipped, cleaned and spacious for 4 adults, 4 kids and our dog. We would certainly come back. Our favorite part was having a beautiful, clean beach that was NOT crowded. A wonderful home away from home!

We really loved staying at this little home away from home! Our vacation group consisted of three generations of family members plus dogs. There was plenty of space for us to use the house as our home base of operations. Very quick walk to the beach, ample supplies on site, and quick access to a variety of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. We loved staying here and will definitely return!

Wonderful Property - small hiccups with property manager

Stayed here for Shamrock Marathon/ Half-Marathon weekend as the home is directly on the course. Short walk to an uncrowded beach was wonderful. Short drive to any attractions. Only one difficulty - it was raining very hard when we arrived and there was a leak in the ceiling. We were able to get a hold of the property manager who had someone out the next morning to patch the roof. He noted this was an ongoing issue and offered a small refund as a token. I thought that was very kind until we checked out and never received the refund.

Beautiful getaway

We spent our Thanksgiving here so we could spend it with our son in the Coast Guard. We loved our stay here! House was extremely clean and had all the amenities needed to have a great Thanksgiving. Loved that we were able to bring our dog also. The beach was steps away which was perfect for early morning walks & coffee & endless hours playing catch. Would highly recommend & hope to be back.

Blissfully deserted beachfront

Our stay at Lisa's home was everything we had hoped for - a quiet neighborhood, steps from the beach, almost empty during the off-season. We loved bringing our dog to romp in the surf - and that access points had doggie bags, and trash cans were frequent. The house was comfortable, had everything we needed, and the roof porch was great for grilling a family dinner and enjoying the ocean breeze. We can't wait to go back.

Steps away from private beach!

We had an amazing stay! Lisa was extremely accommodating and responsive. The location of the home was perfect. We had a young daughter traveling with us so being that close to a beach was a key! The beach was empty and almost felt like a private beach most days. The house was even more spacious than the pictures made it seem. Great stay! We hope to be back.
