Ellis -Lakeside Cabin on Beach Pond with Wood Fired Finnish Sauna

Attention! We have 1 summer week left this August 24-31st, 2024. In order to see it, please request or book Saturday to Saturday. "Ellis" is a cute fully heated and winterized camp cottage built in the 1960's by the students of Ellis Tech. It has two bedrooms and sleeps 5. The detached bunkhouse has 3 single beds and is available for larger groups (summer only) Very peaceful lakeside location on Beach Pond. Walking distance to trails. Enjoy the quintessential lakeside vacation!
The space
The Top 5 questions we get:
1. Do we need to bring firewood?
You are welcome to collect deadwood from the forest surrounding the cabin for free. We also provide firewood bundles for $4/armload
2. Does the cabin have pots and pans and linens?
Yes, the cabin is equipped with everything you need for basic cooking and has linens and towels.
3. Does the sauna work?
Yes! The sauna is available year round.
4. Does the cabin have heat?
Yes, the cabin has both propane and electric heat to keep you toasty on even the coldest New England nights.
5. Is there a grill?
Yes! The cabin has a propane and a charcoal grill. We do not provide charcoal, so bring your own please.

Ellis has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two single beds. The detached bunkhouse has 3 single beds and is available for larger groups in the summer only. The space is newly remodeled and very cozy! Full kitchen with 4 burner stove and oven, refrigerator, and microwave. The kitchen has a table with 4 chairs and a sofa that can one person can sleep on. The bathroom has a shower, small sink and toilet. There is no TV. (you won't miss it, we promise!) Ellis has a lovely porch on the front with views of Beach Pond. This is not a secluded cabin. There is a house next door, another cabin behind, and a camp trailer that is occasionally occupied across the driveway. See the aerial photos in the listing to get a better feel for the layout.
Guest access
Guests have private access to the entire cabin and bunkhouse. A short 300 foot walk from the porch leads to the property's private beach which guests are welcome to use. There is a picnic table and multiple fire pits for campfires. Guests are also welcome to use our 10 person wood fired Finnish sauna. The sauna has a lakeside deck and direct access to the water for a dip. Guests are welcome to use kayaks, canoe, paddle boat, paddle board, and row boat.
Other things to note
Many guests find that they have little to no cell reception here on the lake. If using the App, you can access check in directions without cell reception. We have WiFi in the cabin, so you can get connected as soon as you get inside. The login info is on the table.
We have another cabin on the property, one camp trailer (in the summer) as well as two main houses. We have many family members on the property at any given time and all are friendly and happy you are staying with us! Just remember that there are other people living here, so we expect respect for them as far as noise.

This was a wonderful weekend away. As soon as we got to the door and saw a welcome note we knew it was going to be a great place- and it was! Great 3 night getaway with my friend. Relaxing time in nature. The cabin was in really good condition and clean. It was also well stocked with extras. The host family were very nice and welcoming. Ellis Cabin - Peaceful and relaxing

We absolutely loved staying at Ellis Cabin.Clean and had everything we needed. The beachfront is amazing! The owners are very informative and friendly and love to share the history of the area. Come and stay! You will not be disappointed! As for the birds? Orioles, Pileateds, Red Belly, Pine Warblers, Hummers, Blue Birds, and even a Scarlet Tanager!

Really excellent and for a great price. Stayed at night during a weekend horse show at a remote but large venue. MUCH better deal and closer than any hotels. Very cute, great to be in AC and have kitchen, bathroom, linens. Driving in the area at night is a little tricky, but thats a NE corner thing not a property problem! Wifi was terrific.

Stay at the cabin

I took my adult children to the cabin as a part of their birthday present. The cabin was perfect for us. The property was great. The lake was beautiful. We took advantage of the sauna. We did a 3-mile run off the property and it was safe with almost zero traffic. We left the property and visited the State park for a hike and then went to Buttonwood ice cream. Overall we had a great time. I wish it had been just a little bit warmer. Would definitely go back again.
