Paddington House Hotel offers its guests a library, a vending machine, and a television in a common area. Public spaces have free WiFi. Limited free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The staff were friendly, the beds comfortable and rooms clean. Nice big rooms which is great with kids.
The photos of the hotel are misleading, it is now very rundown, everything works but refurbishment is long overdue. You get what you pay for :-)
In very bad condition! Place genuinely needs knocking down at rebuilding,
First night I was out next to what I can only describe as a couple of homeless, smoking in the room , music started at 1:30am and was still going at 6am when I left, after numerous complaints I was moved to another room which was a lot quieter but still in bad condition.
This place used to be beautiful. It isn't any more.
The double room I'd booked wasn't available for both days so they switched us to a room with 3 single beds (which we pushed together). The room was clean but bleak. There wasn't a curtain in the window so we used 1 of the duvets. Showering was a little tricky as the shower pointed at the wall, we think this was because there wasn't a shower curtain. There were many towels available, not big enough to fit around a normal sized adult, but plenty.
The wifi didn't work so I went to reception. The guy said it must be ok because facebook worked on his phone. Had to go get my laptop to show him no connection and stand there till he did something. When he restarted the router the wifi worked. For a whole 24 hours. Then it was gone again.
The photographs on hotel.com were obviously taken when the hotel had seen better days. Right now there aren't any pretty headboards or bedding and the grounds are overgrown and untidy.
With a bit of renovation this place could be wonderful again.
There's a nice pub across the road that serves food and a small local store close by. There are regular buses into town.
Very run diwn dirty hotel. From parking the car in a very run diwn car park with overgrown gardens to tge Reception we were very disappointed. The staff were helpful and kind. Tge room - well what do i say not hoovered tienails in the carpet. Hiwever there were clean sheets on tge bef, thank gid otherwise id have skept in the car.
I am absolutely disgusted you have this hotel on your site the hotel looks like its never been cleaned looked like 20 years of dirt on the carpets toilets didn't flush properly hair so thick in the sink and shower plug holes the water could hardly go out windows were filthy mould everywhere the only reason we stayed as there was a few festivals in the area a d everywhere was booked up
Well, they cancelled my stay a few hours before without any proper explanation. They offered me a partial refund and didnât offer any help to find another accommodation. What can I say? Horrible experience.
The hotel is dated tbe room door did not feel safe the window was boarded up there was no lamp in the room
I booked for 5 nights left after 2 because i was bitten by bed bugs
Would not recommend to anyone
The first room given to me on the ground floor had no wardrobe and even at that the holes on floor where the wardrobe was removed from weâre not sealed. It was an eyesore! The room window faces an unkempt vegetative backyard leaving a very unsightly view. Second room (replacement) at my behest had a smashed door which ought to have been replaced. Finally you have complimentary tea/coffee ration but no cups-what are you supposed to use? Hotel is poorly run!
This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. Stayed in room 7. Booked double room, but was given a twin room. The carpet was repulsive, the pillows had no pillow cases, there were no towels provided, the bath was rusty, there was no shower facilities, the bathroom floor was rotten and dipped to one side when you approached the toilet. The receptionist could barely speak English and could not provide pillow cases or usable towels. I could not sleep due to severe coughing fits from the mouldy air from the overwhelming dampness throughout the hotel. The smoke detector was covered over.
On arrival I was told there wasn't a room for me as hotel was over booked. However, a room was found but bathroom radiator could not be turned off and room was too hot. It was a hot summers day so no need for heating. Kettle didn't work. Neither did the replacement. I used a socket for the kettle that the lamp worked from.
Honestly this is the worst place I have ever been to. The place is incredibly dodgy and scary. I would not recommend to go there alone, actually go there at all.
We got in the room and there were ashs on the side of the bed and the filtration material of the cigarette. No toilet paper either. We asked to change room and when mentioning this to the receptionist he wasn't even shocked. In the other room there was this incredible stink of smoke and my allergy level was absolutely high. you can hear whatever is going on outside. I paid 42ÂŁ for this experience perhaps a good price should be 10 ÂŁ and that's a lot!
