We had an amazing experience at this property. It sits on a mountain with spectacular views over a beautiful valley, in particular at sunrise and sunset. The house is very spacious and comfortable. It's fairly new, in great condition, and clean.
We would definitely rent the house again, but not through VRBO/Vacasa, as Vacasa was not there to assist us when we needed them most. Upon our arrival, we found an outside door unlocked. We called Vacasa seeking contact with the local manager (who never contacted us) and then, feeling unsafe, called 911. Two state troopers arrived and thoroughly searched the house, and they declared the house safe. That same evening, we kept calling and texting Vacasa for the house manager to come fix the lock that evening or send someone to do this. That evening we did not receive a call from a local manager, and, feeling unsafe, we checked into the local Best Western at around 10:30 pm. Only after we returned to the home the next morning and called Vacasa again, a local repair person arrived who fixed the lock on the door. It seems that there is no local manager for this particular house.
Vacasa was missing in action at a time when it was their role to help us out. Vacasa did not respond to our complaint and request for damages by phone, email, and letter. Ultimately they paid, but it was a lengthy and painful process. We are definitely not going to rent through VRBO/Vacasa again.
Having said that, we highly recommend the house!
The place was great, especially the view, and would recommend. While we did have some trouble initially, it is not worth complaining about. Just want to bring it up for future parties. We had some trouble getting into the house on arrival. I got on the phone to deal with the door not unlocking. The code was correct, and we kept trying. It eventually opened, so we think it was the automatic lock batteries. Vacasa made note and I think changed the batteries along with the sink faucet that also experienced a problem. We had to wait for someone to come, just to run water, but it was only the batteries there as well and someone did replace the next day. One other thing I would note. I called to ask where to put the garbage and recycling, there was no note advising us. They wanted us to keep the garbage and recycling in the kitchen. We were there for many days and that was unacceptable to us. I explained that we would not be living with trash bags around us in the kitchen. So, we found somewhere to put it outside that was protected. The garbage pails were full, I guess from the prior guests. We then brought the garbage and recycling back in as we were checking out. This is what Vacasa said to do but this procedure should be addressed going forward.
My family, and extended family, had an overall amazing stay at this home. The house itself is located close enough to the town and supermarket that you don't need to feel as though you can't run to the store or restaurants when you reach the house. Alternatively, it is located on a beautiful mountain with amazing sun rises and sunset views. Be forth warned that the last mile to the house is a dirt road. You will need a 4x4 to get up/down the mountain. As far as the house itself, it is both spacious and cosey. The kitchen is very functionable, if you are trying to cook family meals, or just prep some snacks before hitting the mountains. The hot tub is great, especially after a day of skiing, hiking, etc. Overall, we had a truly great experience, and would return to this home, should we decided to return to this area of vermont.
Great time was had by all. Hot tub was impressive. The unfriendly neighbor next door with their keep out signs was not typical of Vermonterâs. We had an age spread from 2 months to 70 years old. Very easy check in and check out.
A group of 6 adults stayed at this property to ski a few days at Stowe. The house is well maintained, has plenty of space, and you can tell the family that owns it takes pride in it. The hot tub appeared brand new and offered wonderful views (as does much of the house). All appliances were in good working order and plenty of kitchen items to allow convenient use of the kitchen. The Wifi worked well across all devices. I would certainly rent the space again and am comfortable recommending it to others.
First impressions are good at this house. Views are beautiful. The deck is amazing.
Entered the house and it was covered with dead ladybugs and flies all over the house. Took us over an hour to sweep and vacuum. The driveway is not paved and is a constant state of mud. The worst part was the water. The house is supposed to be for up to 12 people but the hot water would turn ice cold in the middle of a 5 minute shower. The towels were scratchy and tiny. Also the house had no instruction book. We couldnât figure out the gas fireplace. Overall, not a great experience especially the lack of hot water. Would not stay here again.
