Fort Recovery Beachfront Villa and Suites Hotel 1BR
These lovely deluxe suites fifteen feet from the coastline, consist of private outdoor patio or balcony, nice sized living room, fully equipped kitchen, and a separate bedroom and bathroom. This creates an appealing and relaxed environment. The French Doors expose a fantastic view of the Caribbean and the island of St. John. We have both downstairs and penthouse options available.
Fort Recovery is an authentic, adorable villa with all the basics. We spent our days out exploring Tortola and the other islands and returned to FR in the evenings for sunsets on the balcony or sitting on the beach. We had all the equipment we needed to cook breakfast each day. I'd recommend having a rental car if you stay here - there are no options for restaurants within walking distance. Take a quick drive to Sopers Hole where you'll find all you need.
The unit is well furnished. Daily housekeeping was a huge plus. Loved sitting on the patio with our morning coffee or watching sunset looking at St. John and the catamarans sailing by. A/C in bedroom cooled it very quickly. I can not say enough about Justin, the host. He could not have been more friendly. He was extremely quick to respond to questions. Even knocking on our door one time 2 minutes after I posted a question. Sasha, his dog, is simply beautiful. Restaurant/bar coming soon. Canât wait to come back.
Amazing and unlike no other, I canât say enough!
My husband and have been going to Fort Recovery for a very long time but had not been back since Hurricane Irma so we werenât sure how it faired.
Thankfully, much of the accommodations are still the same, the hosts and staff are equally welcoming and accommodating, and the other guests are friendly and relaxed so you still have your tranquil, private, laidback experience. And the view - well that hasnât changed and is one of the most spectacular sunsets I have seen having traveled a lot and lived in Hawaii.
The condo/apartments are quaint, clean, and efficient. Itâs nice to be able to bring in your own food/drinks because going out to eat every meal when you are on vacation can be exhausting. We actually did a fishing charter on day 2 so ate a lot of our catch on our porch watching sunset almost every night. You can dress up and go out downtown or over the mountain, you can take a quick drive to sopers hole marina for some awesome meals there or you can just chill at home.
My husband doesnât love the sun but he likes to fish so he split his time under cover on the porch with the breezes watching the water or fishing off the rocks while I snorkeled and laid on the beach 10 feet away. Itâs like having a private beach.
Justin and Brian, the owners and Anne and the housekeeping staff were super responsive and welcoming!
Highly recommend if you want to truly get away and relax. You will need a car or taxi service - not much walkable from their location!
We had a great stay. Steps away from the water with gorgeous views up and down the shore and across the channel to St. John. Big bedroom with comfortable bed and stove/fridge/microwave in the kitchen making it easy to fix meals in addition to eating out. Quiet peaceful location. Very clean and the housekeeping staff is great. Justin was responsive to all needs and requests. Nice selection of books in the unit was a plus. Laundry service available for modest fee was also helpful. We recommend this unit
Our rental was very clean and comfy. Beautiful views. Owner Justin was very friendly and accommodating. Only thing we wished for was a store or restaurant in walking distance,
My husband and I stayed after getting off a boat for ten days. Justin (the host) was very accommodating. We enjoyed snorkeling in the ocean right outside our room. The pelicans were mesmerizing to watch.
We hope to return very soon!!!
Great place to stay. View was spectacular. Interesting history to explain the name.
The manager was immediately available for any issues. I definitely plan to stay again.
We needed to find a place close to family/friends that were staying at the West End. We were very pleased with our choice, but even more so when we arrived and immediately felt the relaxed quiet comfort of this location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historic site. The bedroom suite was comfortable, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. The grounds are well maintained. We were spoiled with daily housekeeping. (it's rare these days) Justin and his staff are friendly, helpful, and always available. Beautiful view, a private beach, and very peaceful. We loved waking up to the sound of the sea gulls. We would definitely stay here again!
We spent two nights at this condo which was the end of our 10 day BVI vacation. It was a great location as we had a rental car and could easily go to either Soperâs Hole or Nanny Cay for dinner. While the unit is a bit dated, it was very clean and the furniture was comfortable. The patio was great for sipping coffee in the morning or star gazing at night. Loved the few steps to the beach and the ocean wave sound. Very pleased with our choice to end our trip at this relaxing property
Fort Recovery/Daseys is a very quiet gem right on the beach. The view of St John and the sunsets are lovely. We stayed 2 weeks. Justin, the manager works hard to anticipate every need. The unit was perfectly cleaned every day. Although taxis are available, a car is really helpful. The west end is a lovely part of the island. Smugglers Beach was our favorite.
My husband and I really really really enjoyed our time here!
We got to meet Justin who is taking over the family business, a business that dates way back and we got to hear about the history of the resort.
The staff is fabulous! They made sure our apartment was immaculate, we were so surprised to have mid day house keeping (they even washed a few dishes we had!!), seemed like those days were over. The apartments are well appointed, with powerful AC and a full kitchen. Everything you need to feel right at home.
We enjoyed the refreshing pool, we were elated to find that it wasn't freezing, And the beach, OMG, while nothing is private in the islands, this is for sure a 'private' beach. Perfect place for a romantic sunset!
The west end dining and shops, and ferry to Jost are a 5min drive. We really loved this little area, as it's contained and not super hilly.
Justin is putting so much work into this place, and I know he is going to put some finishing touches on it in no time. We are wishing him a lot of luck and hope to visit later this year.
