Situated on the banks of the historic New River and overlooking the majestic pastoral and mountain scenery. The riverside recreation area is a great spot for you and your guests to picnic, fish, kayak or take a dip in the New River. Unwind in the custom swings surrounding the open fire pit.
New River Retreat Lodge rests above the river providing an even broader view of the river and mountain scenery. Outdoor entertaining has never been better with the spacious covered front and side deck with an additional covered patio on the lower level. Great for entertaining with the outdoor wood burning fireplace (firewood provided), Satellite TV, Weber grill and lots of seating!

New River Retreat Lodge boast a truly great room with 1600 square feet and ample windows for natural lighting and to take in the mountains. Offering gourmet kitchen, center island with bar stools, custom dining table, and pub tables & 2 sitting areas. The main seating area offers large stone wood burning fireplace, large flat screen smart & satellite TV. Another seating area serves as a perfect spot for games or chatting with friends and family. You'll have ample space for your guests no matter what the occasion. New River Retreat Lodge was designed with you in mind!

New River Retreat Lodge offers 6 spacious bedroom suites. each tastefully decorated with on-suite full bath. Three suites offer king beds, 2 suites offer queen beds, and one offers 2 twins. The Moose Room is the suite you'll covet, with its own private patio, Smart TV, as well as a stunning bathroom with double stone vanities and a walk-in shower. The Buffalo Room is handicap accessible offering easy ramp access, custom shower with seat and grab bars. Smart TV's in two additional suites. There is a half bath off the great room with double sinks. Laundry room conveniently located off the great room.

New River Retreat Lodge is an outstanding riverfront setting, upscale amenities and tons of space for your family and friends.

Room to Spare

The property was huge and although we did not use the sixth bedroom (Buffalo Room), it was there if we needed it. We really enjoyed the gargantuan den,,because it allowed all of us to gather and each person had his or her space, if needed. We enjoyed playing the games that were provided. Overall, a wonderful place and a great time.

Perfect Fall Getaway

11 of us have stayed at this lovely getaway the past 2 years for our annual fall gathering of old college friends/spouses. We think it is perfect! Great space inside and out to visit without being on top of each other and having to talk over one another. The view of the river from the porch is fantastic, not to mention the sunsets. We have used the outside and inside fireplaces as well as the fire pit and have thoroughly appreciated the supply of firewood provided. The house is clean, decorated beautifully and kept up well. The kitchen is well equipped. We truly didn't want for a thing while there and look forward to staying there again in the future!

Amazing property!

This house is stunning and the location on the river in the Fall is breathtaking. The owner has thought of every amenity that guests could want/need and any issues that we did have were addressed easily. Definitely recommend for friends getting together, family gatherings, etc.

Long weekend

Beautiful property. Excellent river access. An Ice machine would really be a nice addition. FYI, there is a hornets nest on the chimney that needs to be removed. Small leak in Moose room around chimney. Overall we had an amazing stay. Bedrooms are really nice. Great room is truly a joy. Views are good. Ready to come back!!

Not the greatest experience

Although the property is in an excellent place and pretty much well-equipped the beds are all extra firm and extremely hard to sleep I’ll alsoManagement is not very accommodating to even an hour early check-in lastly there are so many rules and regulations printed throughout the place that gives you the feel of not being able to relax because your worried you might be violating some sort of rule or procedure The actual owners should not be renting if they are worried about a rentor using a fireplace or patio furniture I was a previous owner and renter and have used VRBO properties to do both— this by far Iwas way over the top on printed rules regulations and directions throughout the house

Fall Weekend in the Mountains

Our stay at New River Retreat in West Jefferson was wonderful! The house was perfect for 2 families and our children loved the great yard for running around. The town of West Jefferson had fun activities and we really enjoyed all of the activities that the surrounding towns had to offer as well. We can't wait to come back!
