Sunrise Sensation - You'll love the mountain vistas, amenities, and convenience to Downtown West Jefferson!

Main level offers a Great Room with stone floor to ceiling gas log fireplace, comfortable seating, TV with streaming capabilities. The open concept main level has dining and eat in bar with seating for 7-8 and a fully equipped kitchen with an ice maker fridge, dishwasher, range, Keurig coffee maker and all you need to make a great meal! The first bedroom is equipped with a king bedroom set. Main level bathroom offers a full bath with tub/shower & dual vanity.

Upper level features a master suite (second bedroom), with a queen bedroom set and full bath with tub/shower.

The lower level offers a large gameroom & den with mini Hockey, streaming TV, card/game table, and trundle bed (2 twins). Third bedroom has a queen under a twin bunk bed. Lower level also has a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Washer Dryer area also on this level.

Outside enjoy the covered front deck with rockers, cool mountain breezes, and amazing long range views. The back patio offers a hot tub.

Other amenities include: central heat and AC, small propane grill, WIFI, hot tub, Streaming TV, iron & ironing board, washer, dryer, mini air hockey, game table.

The cabin was cozy and comfortable. It’s correctly called “Sunrise Sensation” because the sunrises are breathtaking! The rocking chairs on the porch overlooking the mountainside are peaceful and relaxing. We had dozens of deer pass throughout the day. Hot tub is nice. The driveway is a sharp right turn but if you navigate it slowly you’ll be just fine. There are three blue reflectors marking off the well as you turn in. The main bed is tall but there’s a stool in the closet. A few suggestions for fellow travelers to bring: beach towels for hot tub, bath soap (some are provided but not adequate), and dryer sheets. We’ve stayed at several mountain cabins over the years in the area and this was a favorite. The owners did a great job making it feel like home!

Short stay

My family rented to visit a sick family member. After booking and reading the reviews we were scared of what we may have got ourselves into. We arrived around midnight with flashlight in hand which was not needed. We also have a full size suv, which we were concerned about. The suv fight down the driveway just fine even with it being tight. Great stay and would stay again. This property is just like any other, exactly what you would expect when staying in the mountains!

Convenient location

Close to downtown and mostly paved roads to the driveway. The driveway could be a challenge for those not used to steep hills and there is only room for 2 vehicles, but other than that it is a clean, comfortable cabin with nice views and plenty of room.

Weekend getaway

We certainly did enjoy our time at Sunrise Sensation. This cabin is very cozy (I don’t mean small), it feels like a big hug. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us, we loved it.

Nice Cabin but VERY POOR ACCESSIBILITY

Check in says 4pm, but were instructed by management group to not show until at least 6pm . We arrived at 7:15pm to a completely pitch dark road. No lights, no reflectors off of a very bumpy gravel road. The driveway is extremely steep and a hard right turn in off the gravel road. Again, no light marking the entrance of the property driveway and the driveway was completely blanketed by dry pine needles. My SUV began sliding as we turned into the driveway due to lack of traction from the pine needles. I turned hard right in order to avoid going off the side of the mountain and unfortunately, there is a concrete well cover on the right side that was completely unmarked and no reflectors to show that it is there. They never mentioned this is the check in instructions or to watch for it. My SUV sustained significant damage to the right side as we slid past the well on the right side. The lack of lighting or driveway maintenance creates and extremely dangerous situation for guests! The response I received from the property manager after notifying her what had happened was: "The driveway is steep and for the first time accessing the cabin it is ideal for it to be during the day but we understand that will not always be the case." Not a I'm sorry that happened, is everyone ok...we'll get someone out there to clear the driveway. NOTHING! Instead, we all spent an hour the next morning sweeping the driveway so that we would not have the same problem coming and going again.

End of summer getaway

Our family loved the house. Just minutes away from town. We found the house clean and spacious for us and kids. The house has a grand front porch to sit and watch the sun come up over the mountains so peaceful. We rent it again.

Not set up for old people

parking lot dangerous needs rail around Drop off so you can tell what you are doing House needs pull bars at commode for old people to pull up need a hand rail at porch step to assist getting on porch for old people or advertise not for elderly people that have mobility problems, not in wheel chair but use walkers.

We loved our stay - the leaves were just changing and the views were great! The pots and pans really need to be replaced, everything else was in good condition. The King bed, even though it was pretty high for my short self, was incredibly comfortable. Thank you so much!

Other than these few suggestions our stay was outstanding. 1 There should be a chair in each bedroom even if it’s just a folding chair. 2. A better system of trash disposal especially with the disposal sites closed on the weekend.
