Overall:This property has strong potential, but our stay was disappointing given the price and the holiday timing.Pros:We stayed here with family during the Christmas holiday (December 2025). The owner was very communicative prior to arrival, responded quickly to messages, and allowed early check-in as well as an additional paid night. When issues arose, the property manager came promptly to address them. The home is located in a gated community with nice amenities, including a large pool and a complimentary beach shuttle.Cons:Despite the home’s appearance, it is in need of a significant refresh. The towels and washcloths were white but visibly stained. The sheets also had stains. The master bedroom toilet handle broke on the day we arrived. The hand soap dispensers were empty at check-in. The freezer ice maker broke during our stay and was not repaired.Housekeeping was another major issue. Service was limited during the holidays, and no backup arrangements were made. After we raised concerns, the owner suggested that we pay the housekeeper out of pocket to come the day after Christmas if we did not want to wait—after we had already paid full price for the stay. Housekeeping should be included in the rental fee, even during holidays. If the regular housekeeper is unavailable, a replacement should be arranged by the owner, not the guest.

Wonderful time

We have visited Barbados and Royal Westmorland many times and this trip did not disappoint. The house was perfect - just as listed. Location of the house is the great, walking distance to the club house and gym etc. We would definitely return.

Another great holiday

Stayed for 2 months in lovely Barbados. 5 Sugar Cane Mews is like home from home. The proximity to R West facilities could not be bettered. Would love to stay again - if Ben would have us!

Superb villa - Highly recommended - 5 stars!

We stayed in 5 Sugar Cane Mews for 17 nights in May/June 23 and it was truly outstanding! Me, the hubby and 2 kids - aged 18 and 21 but you know what I mean! The villa is exactly like the pictures, just beautiful, modern, chic. Seamless check-in, Ashana (housekeeper) was lovely and couldn't be more accommodating. Beautiful pool, comfortable lovely sun loungers, excellent wifi, luxury from start to finish. Great location right near the clubhouse and first tee on the golf course. All the sports channels (for football lovers). Mullins Beach club access (which not all homes have). Lovely sea view, fantastic air conditioning in all bedrooms, many other extras we have not seen in previous Royal Westmoreland Homes (we have stayed in many). Literally nothing negative to say, fantastic rental from a lovely host, housekeeper and property manager! We will be back! Thank you Ben ! :-)

Great location with beautiful views

Spacious villa with great location and beautiful views from the balcony. Close to the Club house, swimming pool, gym and the Rum Shack where we enjoyed some great evenings. Thanks to Ashana for looking after us. Looking forward to our next visit!

FABULOUS!

What you see is what you get! The property is just as the photos on the website. The layout is perfect for a group, with living spaces upstairs and bedrooms on the lower level. Noise within the townhouse or between units was never an issue. The property is well maintained and Ashana (the housekeeper) was really lovely and very attentive. Ben and the RWM team responded very quickly to any minor issues/questions that arose. The townhouse is located just across the street from the fitness centre and community pool and is next door to the Clubhouse (2-3 minute walk). All of our encounters with the RWM team were very positive - they were extremely helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. The view from the balcony is specatular - overlooking parts of the golf course with a sliver of the ocean on the horizon. Wonderful spot to watch the sun set and local monkeys play in the early evening. We rented a vehicle and would recommend same for guests at RWM in order to easily access other parts of the island. That being said, taxi service was excellent the few times we used it during our stay. We have travelled to Barbados many times and this was definitely the best property we have rented. Would not hesitate to recommend it! Thank you Ben, Ashana and RWM!

LUX LIVING IN BARBADOS

Allow me to firstly thank Ben, the host for having the BEST on-site team ever! The people who assisted me, including our driver was AMAZING! Ashana made the trip, she was so warm and loving and kind. I literally could not put into words how much of a impact she had on our time in Barbados. The house is just beautiful, the pictures are great but the house is PHENOMENAL! The pool is clean, the lawn is manicured. This house also comes with beachclub house access, so you can go to all of the shacks for food/dinner/drinks all within 2-5 minutes from you. It is a cashless clubhouse so don't bother changing your money or taking much out. I am so thankful to have been able to stay basically next door to Rhianna's home! The place is magical, its lux, its overall just 10s across the board. Though the host is not super communicative via emails, he made sure we were taken care of upon arrival. Everyone speak highly of him and I am happy we were able to rent his space for our leisure. Thank you again for all of your help!

Stunning & Fabulous

We have had the most fabulous time here in Barabados. The villa is absolutely stunning and by far the best we have stayed in on the island! Superbly furnished to a high standard, clean, bright and airy! Fully equipped for a perfect stay and situated in the perfect location! The owner was extremely attentive and communication was second to none. The cleaner was lovely, polite and very helpful. Everything was so well ran and organised making our stay more than perfect! We loved it so much we would love to return for another holiday in the future
 and would most definitely recommend to all we know and to anybody considering this beautiful villa for their holiday.

Beautiful Oasis & Views

This place was amazing! I would definitely book with Ben again. Ashana, the housekeeper was great! The guest services staff was great once we connected getting all of our services/excursions set up. Barbados Family Reunion

The description is exactly as described in the VRBO pictures. Very spacious, comfortable and well appointed. My only complaint was how hot it got due to lack of AC in the upper levels. If you’re not going to stay in the Villa during the day it’s not an issue but traveling with a large family, we cooked most days for lunch and it became unbearable. I suppose you can grill and hang out by the pool. We arrived late the VRBO App info would not load and the phone call to the manager would not go through, so check in was a bit rough. The women at the security gate were wonderful and got things sorted out in a flash.

Wonderful property in Royal Westmoreland

Sugar Cane Mews 5 is a lovely, clean, well located property within Royal Westmoreland. The property has a lovely view overlooking the practice green, the first tee box and the beautiful Caribbean sea. It is also ideally situated right beside the Club House and across the street from the main resort pool and the well equipped gym. The poperty is a short drive to a number of beautiful beaches (including Mullins Beach, where a beach membership and convenient shuttle service are available). Our travel party consisted of 8 people and we found the interior and exterior of the villa to provide ample space for all. Ben was very responsive throughout the booking process, and Karen (from Royal Westmoreland Guest Services) was also very responsive and helpful in ensuring that we were all set for our arrival. We would highly recommend this property!
