The breathtaking view from my hotel room. My last day in town but I will definitely return. I am eternally grateful for the incredible people of Zanzibar and their exceptional hospitality. For those who don’t know, Zanzibar is comprised of 52 stunning islands. It has been a truly uplifting experience and a remarkably safe place to visit.

Only gave a 4 because of the staff but i was leaning towards a 3 or a 2. The property needed renovation about 5 years ago. They keep it keep but you can see the age of the property everywhere you look especially in the bathrooms.

We stayed at Golden Tulip and found it to be moderately clean, though some areas, like the bathroom corners (bathroom door couldn’t close), could have been tidied up more. The biggest issue was the mosquitoes—despite some repellent being provided, I still had trouble with them during my stay. Overall, it was an okay experience, but the mosquito problem could definitely be improved.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. We liked that it was in a quiet area about 15 min to Stone Town by taxi. The room was large and we enjoyed the pool that looked out over the ocean. Buffet breakfast offered a variety of dishes and the coffee was awesome! We really enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I recently spent a week at the Golden Tulip Zanzibar Resort as a prelude to our wedding anniversary, and it was nothing short of amazing. We chose this hotel based on glowing reviews, and our experience completely confirmed them. From the moment we arrived, the staff stood out with their exceptional warmth and professionalism. They were not only pleasant but also had a distinct artistic approach to customer service, making us feel special at every turn. Our romantic getaway was made even more memorable by the little touches that showed how much thought went into ensuring a delightful stay. Housekeeping went above and beyond, giving our bedroom a unique and creative spread every day. It felt like a fresh surprise each time we walked in. Breakfast on the rooftop was another highlight, with a variety of beautifully served cuisines accompanied by breathtaking scenic views. It was the perfect way to start each day. The absolute highlight of our stay was the private dinner by the poolside, arranged just for the two of us. The ambiance was magical, and it truly felt like a dream come to life. The property was clean and well furnished. Staff were very attentive and accommodating of our needs. They truly made our experience enjoyable as they were very welcoming and bubbly! The back of the hotel is facing the sea which has a lovely view and the front of the hotel has a city view which provides the best of both however, there was a lot of traffic at the front making it difficult and unsafe to cross roads. The restaurant in the hotel was delicious and had a great variety of food including different cuisines. They do need to upgrade their iron and provide an ATM or cash exchange service instead of travelling to the city to exchange money. It was advertised that a full length mirror would be available upon request but this was not the case. Overall, the hotel was lovely - especially the staff but some of the services/facilities need upgrading.

The hotel and our rooms were very clean. The ocean view is spectacular, and there is a gym on site. The bed was very comfortable, and the room always smelled fresh. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff went out of their way to make sure that we had everything that we needed. The service, the helpfulness and the food was delightful. We had a 5:00 a.m. excursion one morning and was going to miss their most delicious breakfast which began at 7:00 a.m. (so we thought). We informed the hotel the night before, and were asked what we would like to eat. Our breakfast was packaged and waiting for us the next morning on time! I also left my outlet adapter and was unable to charge my phone. I told this to one of the staff, he in turn solved my problem. He made a call, found out the cost and sent his brother into town to buy one for me! Now that is going above and beyond. I am indeed grateful for the exceptional level of service we all received from the entire staff with their warm and friendly smiles. I plan on returning next year and will only stay at this location. The only thing I did not like is that I had to leave this beautiful place!!!
