On an island in the midst of nature, this nature house stands among hydrangeas, a wonderful place for those seeking tranquility. This nature house is the ideal starting point for trips in the Groene Hart, such as to the Nieuwkoop lakes, Vinkeveen lakes or Loosdrecht lakes. A beautiful area for walking and cycling enthusiasts. A maximum of four people can stay in the Natuurhuisje during a weekend, midweek, week or longer. With a beautiful view over the polder you can enjoy all the facilities that this nature house has to offer. There is 1 separate bedroom with 2 single beds that we can make up as a double bed. There is a seating area in the dining room with patio doors to the terrace, a fully equipped kitchen with hob, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, kettle and Senseo. You can extend the sofa to a double bed. The cottage also has a modern bathroom with shower and toilet and there is a TV with DVD player in the living room for when the weather is bad. The cottage has mosquito nets so that only desired guests can enter the cottage. Is it going well again? Then you can make the most of it by using the bathing jetty, the existing rowing boat for floating, free use of fishing rods and the spacious terrace with garden furniture. For the cold evenings you can gather around the fire pit. 
NATURE
The nature house is surrounded by a rich and varying water fauna. Sailing the Nieuwkoopse Plassen you will discover all the secrets of the swamp. You can also discover this pearl in the Groene Hart on foot. From rough paths through meadows to the nicely decorated Lusthof De Haeck. Woerden is known as the most average city in the Netherlands. Yet Woerden is very special. A visit to this medieval fortified city will turn out surprisingly. Nice streets with authentic shops, a lively town square with sunny terraces where there is always something to experience and monumental buildings such as the old Stedehuys and Kasteel Woerden are the ingredients for a varied day out.

Excellent place, a small island amidst Dutch canals, at a farm with milk and excellent yoghurt and eggs from the chicken just next “ door” â˜ș Kids enjoyed the small boat.

Une petite Ăźle fleurie en juillet

SĂ©jour de courte durĂ©e mais un joli petit coin. L'Ă©quipement est fonctionnelle et harmonieux. Nous n'avons pas rencontrĂ© l'hĂŽte Ă  l'entrĂ©e ni Ă  la sortie. Tout est par mail avec politesse et gentillesse. ClĂ© Ă  la porte . Un comportement de confiance qui mĂ©rite le respect. Un pot de confiture , 4 Ɠufs frais et un vase de fleurs sauvage nous attendait.

Kurzurlaub auf Hortensia Island

Wir haben zwei schöne entspannte Tage in dem kleinen Ferienhaus auf einer kleinen Insel verbracht. Das HĂ€uschen ist wirklich schön gelegen und man hat gerade morgens einen wunderbaren Blick ĂŒber WassergrĂ€ben und Felder.

Peaceful farm retreat

Enjoyed our family stay on “Hortensia Eiland”. Cottage was nicely appointed with everything needed to do small meals. Took full advantage of the farm fresh eggs, yogurt, jam and milk. We felt like we experienced the Holland countryside experience to its fullest!

Holland Stay

After being pleasantly welcomed by our guest, Anita, she explained how to get to the cottage and even gave us a quart of fresh milk, as it was on a dairy. After walking past the chicken coop, and the pig, we were led over a bridge onto almost a magical private Cottage on a small island, surrounded by beautiful flowers. It was the perfect retreat to stay in order to venture out and experience both the countryside, and the city life of Holland, as we had planned visits to both Amsterdam and The Hague, as well as other destinations.

Urlaub auf eigener Hortensien-Insel

Wer Land und Natur liebt, ist hier genau richtig. Guter Ausgangspunkt um Land und Leute kennenzulernen. Wir wurden sehr liebevoll empfangen und bekamen UnterstĂŒtzung bei Bedarf. Vorab haben die Absprachen gut geklappt. Uns hat's sehr gut gefallen und können Hortensien Eiland bestens weiterempfehlen.

Beautiful cottage in the Netherlands

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely and charming cottage. It is so serene and enveloped in green; we stepped out every day into birdsong, and ducklings hatched while we were there. Our host Anita was welcoming, and there were fresh eggs from the hens and homemade jam on the table when we checked in. While there is no clothes washer in the cottage, Anita very kindly offered to do our laundry for us. There are peaceful walks in nature preserves nearby, and we had access by car to Utrecht, Leiden, Lisse & the Keukenhof Gardens, and Gouda. But it is hard to tear oneself away from sitting in the very private garden at the cottage: we visited in early Spring and sat under a blooming fruit tree, among emerging leaves and blooming bulbs, and watched the soft Holland light reflecting off the water. Thanks so much to Anita and her family for a wonderful experience!

We wanted more time here

Anita and Martin gave us the most amazing village experience. We arrived to a very clean cottage with everything that we needed. The kitchen had everything that we needed to cook and clean. The bathroom did not have toiletries but had lots of towels and wash clothes. Our beds and the pull out couch was so comfortable. We loved the eggs and yogurt sold at the farm and appreciated homemade jam. I had the best time spending time with Pip the pig and the chickens every morning over coffee. We loved it so much that we extended our stay. The place was very quiet, comfortable, clean and cozy. I also will say that it was truly the perfect central location to all surrounding areas. We did east coast, north, giethorn, even went to Bruge, belgium in only 2 hrs and 20 minutes. We were close to utrecht and gouda too. Don’t hesitate to stay here. You won’t regret it.

Heerlijk rustige plek

Een fijne rustige plek aan het water met boerderijgeluiden op de achtergrond. Een fijn huisje met alle voorzieningen. De slaapbank is echter niet ideaal voor langere mensen.

Hortensia Eiland das Kleinod

Das Objekt wird von sehr freundlichen und bemĂŒhten Gastgebern geleitet. Es liegt nicht weit von Zegveld in lĂ€ndlicher Umgebung. In den nĂ€chsten Orten Zegfeld und Woerden gibt es genug Einkaufsmöglichkeiten um dort auch einen lĂ€ngeren Aufenthalt zu bestreiten. FĂŒr das HĂ€uschen gilt: "Raum ist in der kleinsten HĂŒtte." In der Beschreibung sollte allerdings ergĂ€nzend erwĂ€hnt werden, dass Hortensia Eiland von einem landwirtschaftlichen Betrieb umrahmt wird. Dort ticken die Uhren etwas anders als in einem Urlaub. Wir können das Objekt trotz dieses fehlenden Hinweises natĂŒrlich empfehlen.

Auszeit in Holland

Die Vermieterin Anita ist sehr Zuvorkommend und erfĂŒllt WĂŒnsche die im Online Portal falsch erwĂ€hnt sind. Das Haus ist klein und fein, auch mit 3 erwachsenen Personen hat man noch genĂŒgend Platz zu verweilen und die Aussicht zu geniessen. Einzig der Einstieg ins Wasser, machte uns ein wenig Probleme da es keine Leiter gibt und man vom Rand ins Wasser muss. Danke an Anita fĂŒr die schöne Zeit. Familie Weinmann

Klein und romantisch - Perfekt um zu entspannen

Es ist ein kleines, aber sehr schönes Haus am Stadtrand von Zegveld. Man hat eine kleine Terasse und ein kleines StĂŒckgarten. Das Haus liegt direkt an den KanĂ€len, auf welchen man mit dem eigenen Paddelboot einen kleinen Ausflug machen kann. Die Vermieterin (Anita) ist eine sehr warmherzige Person und stets freundlich. In dem Haus gab es alles was man brauchte, von Tellern und Besteck, ĂŒber Backofen und Senseo-Maschine bis hin zum Grill war alles da was man benötigte. Der Ort liegt ca 45 Minuten mit dem Auto von Amsterdam und Rotterdam entfernt, so das man beide schnell und unkompliziert mit dem Auto erreichen kann. Wir waren zu viert dort und wĂŒrden es jederzeit wieder empfehlen.
